They played a baseball game in Austin earlier this year. I know they've played basketball games in neutral locations...if I remember correctly, they played the first college game in Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Not sure about the other sports...I presume they have.
Football is where the impasse is.
Basically everything but football. Just too convenient an opponent for mid-week non-conference games. Basketball isn't regular, but its happened.

Congratulations to TAMU!
So we're down to seven teams left.
TAMU will play the loser of tonight's Notre Dame - Oklahoma game in an elimination match on Tuesday at 1 PM.

This could have been, should have been, compelling TV. But four hours+ is just too long for me to watch. What a snoozefest. I hope the remaining games are more entertaining.

The whole superregionals and CWS so far has had a lot of one sided games.
People have suggested the ball is juiced in college this year.

RE: CWS Bracket and opening round Schedule
But it was a great year for Texas athletics.
4 national titles-men's golf, men's indoor track, women's tennis, women's rowing
6 runnerups-men's track, men's swimming, women's track, women's swimming, softball, women's indoor track
3 elite 8s-baseball, women's volleyball, women's basketball
1 sweet 16-men's tennis
13th-women's golf
14th-men's cross country
2 round of 32-men's basketball, women's soccer.
The black sheep of the department were women's cross-country-3rd in the South Central regional-didn't qualify for nationals and a men's sport whose name shall not be mentioned.

Yes, I tuned in at times, but the game just dragged and dragged.
I ended up watching way more Drag racing and US Open golf. And Formula 1 racing.
The game just never ended.

And it may always be that way. College baseball has no monetary incentive to speed up its pace of play.
MLB has a lot of money riding on its games ending more quickly than that. Each MLB team is making at least $100 million/year in TV money. That incentive doesn't exist in college baseball. ESPN has a low-money contract that gives them the rights to all NCAA championships except D-I men's basketball. There's no contract for regular season college baseball rights, either; those rights are just part of the TV deals that include what TV really cares about, i.e. football and basketball games.
So, unlike MLB, there's no river of money in college baseball that might dry up if the games run on too long.

And the funny thing is, the NCAA instituted a pitch clock to help speed up the game. Looks like it made no difference

The NCAA pitch clock is 20 seconds and only applies when there are no runners on base.
Compare that with the pitch clock rules that pro baseball is experimenting with in some minor leagues: 14 seconds when the bases are empty and 18 seconds when there is at least one runner on base.

Oklahoma beats Notre Dame ... 6-2
Notre Dame plays Texas AM on Tuesday in an elimination game.
Oklahoma is one win from advancing to the CWS final. The do not play next until Wednesday, and the ND/TAMU winner will have to beat them twice to knock them off.

Pick your poison for us. I suppose it's always good to see TU lose even if the price is Payin' Them advancing.

When college baseball drags, its usually because the pitchers don't have control and are walking lots of batters.

Are you sure? Auburn has been a PAC 12 slayer this year. They eliminated U.C.L.A., Oregon State, and Stanford.

. It's better to see more intersectional matchups.

Maybe, but today's AU vs Stanford game had 5 walks, and took about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
These games just go on and on, IMO.
