They are probably out after we beat them.

Its getting tougher on the bubble. This year its not going to be bid steals thats an issue. The issue is that there's 5-10 teams who were just slightly out of it at the end of the season who are putting together a couple of wins in their conference tournament to get them back in the bubble mix. And some of these teams are going to be tough for SMU to compete with resume wise.
And its not helping their cause that the game they have today is against Tulsa. SMU really needs another Q1 win to be able to compete with some of these teams making it back into the bubble.

Yes. Unfortunately SMU has been put in a position of needing to beat us to make it to the NCAA Tournament. As if they needed more motivation...

damn, N Texas just played themselves out of the tournament. Their NET is likely going to take a beat down due to only scoring 36 points.

The weren't even remotely near the bubble before the loss.

Believe I saw where NT went like 8-9 mins without scoring in the 1H at some point.

per ESPN, looks like that loss killed them off.
Quote:North Texas Mean Green
For the better part of two months (almost to the day), North Texas was a juggernaut. The Mean Green won 15 games in a row between January and March, and in the process Grant McCasland's team built a very good case for an at-large bid. The win streak was snapped in the final game of the regular season at UTEP, however, and now a six-point loss to Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA semifinals has likely put an at-large bid beyond UNT's reach. (updated March 11)

They had some positives. Great non-conf sos, 6-3 in Q1/Q2 games, 9-1 on the road. But yea, that kind of a loss is going to be ugly when their resume goes up against an ever expanding bubble.

They were. They were on the ESPN bubble-watch updates by Gasaway.

Aren't they joining AAC?
Edit: Quick Google search says yes. Adding UNCC, UAB, North Texas to Tulane and USF.....that's a LOT of green!

Side note: I hate that these computer rankings often have weird criteria. Points/ possession (instead of points/game). If a team shoots from half court every possession, making 30% but scoring 200 pts, they're pretty d#$@ hard to beat! Computer would say they're terrible in regards to points/possession.
Points per possession is not weird. It’s the only accurate way to measure it because of differing speeds of play. If they scored 200 points that would be reflected in their efficiency numbers. 30% is not that great either maybe less turnovers shooting from half court so no 0 possessions from turnovers. The point is in that scenario the other team would get a lot more possessions also.
What if a team shot 20% from the field, but out-rebounded the opponent 5-1 consistently?
It is the same possession if they get an offensive rebound.
If the shot clock resets on an offensive rebound wouldn’t that be a new possession?
No
