I don’t have time to watch all the games. But maybe some of you can post on here when bubble teams lose. Or win. Wake Forest, last 4 in, just lost to Boston College. I would have to think this knocks them out.

I'd say they're still among the last four in. They're in the ACC, and their NET coming into the game was 39.

If your school plays in one of the privileged conferences they can play a very weak OOC schedule & its no issue because they will get 10+ Q1 games in-conference. Not so in the AAC, bias or not.

Like Houston? Have they beaten a decent team this season? Other than smu I would say no. How do they maintain that high ranking?

Wake Forest is almost certainly out. Their Net will drop a little, but still be respectable, but in a very dangerous spot. But their rpi is in the 70's, meaning their net and rpi arent in alignment. Their non-conf SOS is 345. To understand how craptastic that is, consider that there are only 358 teams. They also only have a single Q1 win.

The committee kept GTech, also of the ACC, out 2 years in a row because of their non-conf SOS. If you play in the ACC, it takes a very special crappy non conf-sos to make your overall SOS 158. But thats where they are.

And Xavier just lost. 2 of the last 4 in teams just lost to teams with losing records. Not sure if they are both quad 3 or not, but probably knocks them both out.

I'd start with the fact that UH has won 26 games & won the reg season AAC.

Add in the fact that Houston is a privileged conference team in waiting. Kind of a welcome to the club perk.

They lost 8 out of their last 10 games, and having a losing conference record. THeir NET will also probably drop into the nail biting category.

Have to understand the algorithm of the NET to understand Houston.

The Quad wins are only one component. The other is the efficiency ratings...offensive efficiency minus defensive efficiency. This is where Houston absolutely excels.

They just dog-walk and skull drag lesser teams. They have 22 double digit wins. This works wonders for those efficiency numbers. I respect them because they play hard every night, no matter the opponent.

If we did that we would be in contention for a top seed.

Quick nerve soothing update- Jerry palm on today’s eye on college basketball podcast says Memphis win in quarters would probably seal it. Says game against SMU is more important to SMU than Memphis.

Today was a great day for bubble teams not named Xavier or wake Forrest

If Houston doesn't win the tourney, all of those great numbers will be disregarded and they will end up 6-7

If they don't win the tournament that is probably where they belong, based on their resume.

Even If they do win the tournament they will probably be in the 5-6 range, which is about right for them to be ranked between 17-24 seeing how they are currently ranked 18th in the polls.

They are for sure not in ahead of us even if we lose Friday. Neither is Xavier.

Seems like I remember a while ago a team ranked in the human polls not getting an at large.
