I've never suggest anything other than a new assistant coach so I'm not sure why you want to list me.
I've repeatedly said Penny needs a mentor. We are going to have to spend to find a good one.
Worst I've said is the verdict is still out on Penny. It is. Last season was promising and this season hasn't really proven anything except Penny and Mike can both recruit.
I appreciate what Penny is trying to do for our city and school. That doesn't mean he is perfect or it's wrong to question poorly played games.
True it may just be youth and circumstance. No way to know right now.
Most people new to any job need someone to show them the ropes as they say. No sense in reinventing the wheel if you can pay for a good set of tires and have them put on the car.
I hope Penny is intensely successful here. I have hoped all our coaches would be. Their success or lack thereof didn't hinge on my opinion. I doubt Penny's will either.

The consensus on Twitter is that Penny needs to go. This is the only place that still wants to keep him.
The consensus on Twitter... I am sure you and your two buddies feel that way but the other 99% of the fan base do not feel that way.
Maybe the two friends you have on social media want to keep him but the rest of Tiger nation is done with excuses. Penny asked for all the smoke and now he's got it. Bragging about titles when you can't figure out what to do with your timeouts is a amateur move.

No one is arguing we don't have more talent or that we shouldn't have won. The reality of the situation is just way more complicated than talent alone. Every good team in the country has losses to inferior teams. Upsets happen, they happen multiple times a season and they are far more likely to happen when you are dealing with as many roster challenges, injures and overall inexperience as we have this year.
Some are trying to suggest our coaches are in over their heads, when the reality is even the best coaches in the nation would be struggling with this situation right now. He was expected to be on the floor after he quit? How does that work?
The thing is this team was built around him. Some, he’s gone but this team is so inexperienced they are having trouble adjusting.
This team was better early without Wiseman than they are now without Wiseman. It's all effort related. They still play good defense, but lazy passes that result in steals/points and giving up way too many offensive rebounds. Coaches have to get their attention or the season ends in a month.
You do realize you are comparing a team that was still completely geared towards having JW come back and play against USF to the team that had the rug pulled out from under them?!
Penny is trying to teach them how to be pros and create for themselves, which is a benefit to getting to the NBA. When he cracks down and tells them the offense to run, the turnovers go down greatly. For lack of a better example, think of Paxton Lynch. The restless idiots complained LOUDLY for piano man to replace him, but Coach Fuente knew better and it paid of greatly. Sometimes you just have to trust the process and admit that you don't know everything going on with the team and maybe Penny knows more than you (not saying specifically you in that statement, but quite a few in this thread).

No need in trying to reason with know-it-all people here. They think they know more than the coaches and everyone else. And some get made if you disagree with them about it. It’s really hilarious reading some of this stuff here. There were plenty of people here warning of the youth and inexperience of this team before the season started. And then James leaving and the injuries on top of it. Things were bound to spiral for this young team. If the staff couldn’t coach we wouldn’t be playing defense the way we are. I admit the offense could be better. The young guys try to do too much. They will learn.

When I read your reply I thought about an interview that I saw from Louisiana Rapper Boosie when he explained why he had to move from his hometown of Baton Rouge to Atlanta. He talked about how your hometown will turn on you quicker than other places. Are you Hypnotized by Hatred for CPH
, jealous of him, despise him or what? Look. CPH probably will in the future speak more softly but carry a big stick. but people like you will then flip and say he's lost his confidence because he's changed. I bet you're one of those that also criticizes him because he's a thinker during games and isn't going berserk on the sidelines, that's how he's made, just like you couldn't expect Dan Hurley of UConn to be calm during games, he's not made up that way.

Even under the best coaching scenario its hard to see us much better than 18-19 wins right now with all that has happened and so little experience. Here we are at 17.
And yes, we are "missing" Wiseman. Its silly to pretend we are not. He was expected to be on the floor and that played a HUGE role in the expectations this season.
Don't disagree with any of your points and I am 100% behind Hardaway, but they still looked better pre-Wiseman than they do post-Wiseman, whether its mental, emotional, whatever.
(I was pro-Lynch over Karam, and I sat right behind his Karam's family.)

I personally find that to be a flawed example.
I can say.. if we had played Karam we would have won more games that season and Lynch would have benefited from a year on the practice team. Maybe Lynch wouldnt have been terrible his first year as a full starter..
no way to know. it is all speculation.
