Exactly. Not sure how hoops is saying CB/Scheyer is apples to oranges. It's literally the same thing. Two blue blood programs that recruit a plethora of All Americas and essentially roll the ball out there. That's absolutely apples to apples.
It's not. There are coaches that are considered "up and comers" in the coaching circles. Scheyer's name gets mentioned there. CB's did not. Not to mention that K's coaching tree has produced significantly better results than UNC.

Don't know what happened with his almost going to UMass but Pat Kelsey would be of great interest to me. Has Winthrop soaring in their league, seems to be having better results than Mike Jones.

The issue is that you're not basing this on anything tangible. You're referencing some hypothetical, or unreferenced, source with nothing to back it up. If it's not a fair comparison, why not?

Than UNC? That is laugable! Than Roy? Yes, but it's hardly impressive. You'd also have to define what constitutes a coaches tree. Does simply playing for a coach mean you are from his tree, or do you have to be on their staff? Personally, I'd define it as being on staff, not simply a former player.

Sorry i didn't clarify, than Roy. specifically say the last 20 years.
And for the Record the UNC as a whole vs Duke is very comparable. The list i was looking at them 6,7. Looking at K's tree less than impressive wouldn't be my unbiased description. I'm hardly a fan of Duke.

Gary I agree with you, If Bass is going to choose from a list of assistant coaches anyone on your list would be a good fit for the program.

Wasn't Kelsey mentioned as a possible candidate during the post Buzz Peterson search when we hired Keatts? He has a pretty good background and now has some head coaching experience.

Kelsey currently makes 227k per year. He walked away from a Umass job that would have paid him close to 800k with incentives!

He literally informed the UMASS AD 25 minutes before his Press Conference that he was backing out... Winthrop has solid facilities and is prime to win every year in the Big South, I don't see him leaving. Mike Jones on the other hand competes every year with subpar facilities. He'd be an excellent hire for us.

Ty Gadsden stepped to the free throw line with eight seconds remaining and a chance to ice the game. Normally a quiet time for any student section, the Seahawk faithful chanted two words over-and-over.
Hire Burke.
It was a nod to interim-head coach Rob Burke, who stamped another credential to his resume Saturday as UNCW beat William & Mary 70-64 in front of a packed Trask Coliseum, gifting a happy homecoming to all in attendance.
“We love it,” UNCW junior Mike Okauru said. “I want to start a hashtag. Hire Burke. We want Burke, everybody wants Burke, and I think he’s doing a hell of a job.”

It's too bad it's not on a public website where the public can at least view who has submitted a resume.

Wiggle, I wouldn't expect anything until conference tournaments are over.
Question for the group: where does Danny Manning land once he's fired from Wake? I'm sure that is somewhat based on his preference to find another head gig, or return to a P5 as an assistant. But, what type of job, or conference, would be realistic for him if he wants to be a HC?

Just beat Duke. Is that enough to keep him on?

I don’t think so, but both times I’ve seen them play this is year they have looked good.

They beat Duke and Carolina-I think he gets another year. They owe him a ton of money.

Miller makes so much sense at WFU, I don't see them hanging on to Danny just because of those in-state victories. Looking at their schedule they're 3-7 in their last 10, 12-15 overall and 5-12 in conference play (just one game ahead of Carolina for last place). They need to win out the regular season (Notre Dame, @UNC, @NCST) and win two conference tournament games to qualify for the NIT...I think that would give Wellman something to think about, but even in that unlikely scenario, it seems like he's fallen short of a job-saving season.
