Also, I thought Keen called a much better game against WMU. The O-line and the backfield 'mesh' created misdirection--which we had not seen at home all year. Hope they keep that up.

Interesting point (about Glass' accuracy).

IF indeed he has an issue with parts of his body involved in throwing then it is a possible explanation.

These are things the general public just doesn't know.

i noticed he was missing guys deep too during the CCSU game

There's been a lot of harsh words on Wiegers on this board. He had a 65% completion rate with 11td and only 3 ints. Not sure he won too many games last year but he definitely didnt lose any. There's a reason every game was close and Wiegers judgment was a big part of that. That's pretty much easterns game plan. Emu doesnt really have the talent to compete, but if everyone plays smart a win is possible in the 4th.

It’s hard for one person to win or lose a game for their team in football. There are 10 other guys out there with him at a time. But I think anyone (except Bob) would honestly say that we would’ve won the NIU game and played in the MACC if Glass would’ve played that one instead of Wiegers.

All due respect to the kid. He was serviceable enough most of the time, and he was at the helm for one of the best wins in our program’s history. But he wasn’t our best QB, and it was frustrating how much Creighton tried to force him in there over Glass.

Sam that sums it up perfectly!

We were fortunate to have him last year due to the fragility of Glass. We had no real depth at QB when Roback graduated and Tyler's transfer filled a huge hole. He never imploded and cost us a game, and always was available. He was a good thrower and if we had an Iowa type offensive line and a running game, he might have truly have had a great season.

I suspect that Creighton really wanted him to succeed due to the local recruiting efforts that it could enable. In any case I am grateful he chose EMU as the place to end his college career.

Jerry, you nailed it.

Maybe BobW can get the Iowa OL to transfer to EMU, even as grad transfers for a year. That should get us to Detroit for the MACC.

I think it has to do with jealousy. It seems weird but how else do you explain criticizing a kid with a 65% completion rate, 11 TD and only 3 Ints, while leading the team in passing yardage? Coming from a perennially solid Big Ten program, I think people here felt kind of threatened.

I like Tyler. He gave delivered a lifelong memory to my son and I when we went to Purdue last year. He was a good QB but was too one dimensional. In the Toledo game Glass lit up the rockets with the running game. When he got hurt the team hung on to win. Barely.

In the SDSU game Tyler struggled. Then Glass got it going and we took over (shoulda won).

You're loyal to Tyler (and a dreaded B10 team?) but Glass earned the starting spot last year.

RE: Hutchinson
i was relatively pro wiegers last year and i think id like to explain myself. i think tyler was a better passer. i think he was more accurate and probably made better decisions in the pocket. if our offensive line was more consistent he would have been more effective, probably. i think glass is still the man this year BUT i think hutch showing that he isnt a liability under center may shorten the proverbial leash. it's a good problem to have and it makes me feel better about the future knowing drummand, williams, beydoun and hutch are all underclassmen - the passing game may turn into something special in the next couple years.
