31/36 357 yds 3 Tds, and ZERO turnovers! I love Glass, but Glass wouldn't have duplicated that! Every game he throws a couple interceptions by overthrowing or forcing the ball...…, but Glass should probably start......

Also rushed for a TD.

It wasn't eastern that had the advantage because western hadn't seen Hutchinson before. The advantage was western's because Hutchinson had not played before.

I agree with that. Lester said it presented his team with a challenge because they were not aware of the quarterback change until moments before the game started. I get that part but most of Hutchinson's production was in the second half. Shouldn't Western have figured it out by then and made some adjustments?

'Nickle. I don't think teams can re-do their defenses in 15 minutes. Teams take a lot of time to break down film, work with scout teams, etc. to prepare for a QB. It is a multi-practice endeavor.

Maybe one of our Western posters can help, but I think they simply were not ready for Hutchinson and never figured it out. They basically stopped us once, in the 1st half. The other possesses were TDs, FGs, or missed FGs.

So they prepared for Glass and instead got Hutchinson and Grissom.

I think they looked bewildered. I think we punted once in the 1st half and again to run out the clock and end the game.

The offense we ran was not so special. Glass could have run it.

Put it this way, would you rather use an inexperienced qb or face one? The advantage was Western's.

You hit that one right on the barrel of the bat Tough, his talent evaluations have been found wanting witnessed by Sutton Smith, Wiegers and Crosby.

Lots of good points on this thread from Sam, Steve, Nickle and even ljm! Thanks to all of you.

A senior QB who paid his first year here, has played well and is a team captain, deserves to get his job back if he is healthy. I loved Hutchinson's performance Saturday and thus am giddy about the future, but the QB's job is Mike Glass's unless he is unhealthy in my opinion.

Then again with the extensive media coverage EMU football gets, who knows the extent of Mike's injury? I played Eagle Crest golf course on Sunday and encountered a player's parents who mentioned that Glass's injury was a rotator cuff. A shoulder injury on the throwing arm of a quarterback probably keeps him in sweats for the rest of the year.

Speaking of shoulders, I watched Grissom after his two point conversion success. He was in great pain, it appeared he had at a minimum dislocated his shoulder, perhaps even separating it.

Thanks.

I too saw the ice pack on Grissom's left shoulder.

At the end of this video is Grissom's PAT run. Didn't look like he landed on his shoulder.

Wow. If true we may have seen the last of Glass & Grissom for the year.

How about Hutchinson/Jackson this week in similar roles?

With zero coverage of the team, nobody will know until the team runs out for pregame warmups. Good news, Toledo seems to have a very poor defense as well.

Wiegers was our #1 QB statistically and by quality of hair last season, so my "predictions" were right on the $$$. I predict Hutch will start and WIN vs Toledo's vaunted defense.

Did anyone notice is odd throwing hitch or quirk? He like pump-faked all of his deep throws or if it was a pocket pass he would do this little hitch with his arm. Probably not great, right? Idk. Just sitting here thinking.

Just stop already 03-lmfao

Hutch will only start if Glass is still hurt, which may well be the case. If this is his opportunity, good for him. He's worked hard, worked his way up the depth chart, and he's the next man up. Another great representative for EMU football!

Wiegers did have some nice hair. Great kid and an overall positive addition to the team last year. Wish him all the best!

Glass had a noticable issue getting the ball down the field accurately against Ball State. Who knows, if he had been pulled earlier, maybe EMU wins.
Also, I thought Keen called a much better game against WMU. The O-line and the backfield 'mesh' created misdirection--which we had not seen at home all year. Hope they keep that up.

Interesting point (about Glass' accuracy).

IF indeed he has an issue with parts of his body involved in throwing then it is a possible explanation.

These are things the general public just doesn't know.

It's my understanding that Glass has been getting active reps in practice this week. I believe it was more a strain/deep-bruise type issue that needed some rest as opposed to a tear or dislocation or anything more serious.

Creighton and crew highly value game experience and team tenure. They are loyal to the upper-classmen who have put in their time and effort(as they should be), so I fully anticipate that Glass will be the man this week. That doesn't mean CC won't shift to Hutch if he sees something on the field that concerns him about Glass, but I'll be surprised if Glass doesn't start.

And as has been stated here previously, Hutch's performance this past Saturday bodes well for what's on the horizon for the coming two years.

Thanks. Good info.

I too got the same impression from what was on the webcast that Glass seemed more 'day to day' than seriously hurt.

Having Hutch as a backup for 2019 is a big plus. And it was great that he had a 'career day' Saturday.

Both he and Sexton will have memories which last for a long time.

I am thinking about starting an ad campaign, complete with "Sexton & Hutch" t-shirts. I own this idea if someone wants to market it.

Maxx put on like 30 pounds (my suggestion, I said he was too skinny). If he would have put on the weight at EMU he would have been a first or second rounder.

Reggie Bell would have been great at EMU if he stayed, instead he wanted to dominate at a lower level.
