UNC just took the lead so they might knock someone out. Who is most likely to get left out? 1 of the 4 6-6 MAC schools?

Both the MAC and CUSA have multiple surplus teams, so if UNC wins it could be any of them, or Liberty, or Army, if Army ends up eligible.

Liberty has a tie in to the Cure bowl if the AAC can't fill it, and the AAC can't fill it if Memphis or Cincinnati goes to NY6.

The AAC has no bowl hierarchy, so it is up to the AAC as to what bowl it decides not to fill.

UNC with a 28 point 3rd quarter goes up 34-10, looks likely that they'll be team #79.
ULM has it tied with UL

Yes, assuming a UNC win and Colorado loss, that means 1 surplus team, with ULM losing again to ULL, and Army later
The Army-Hawaii game is actually a Sunday game in the Eastern time zone.

It's gonna be ULM's ball, down by 1 with 1:25 left.

ULM loses, so it is down to Army as the last possible additional bowl eligible team.

Brutal loss. Kicker missed a 34 yarder. Can't imagine he feels good, you'd be watching other teams in bowls thinking you'd be there if only you had hit a chip shot.

Its doubly-worse for the kicker because the reason they were down by 1 is because he missed an XP

RE: Bowl Eligible schools, 2019
The school left out will not be a power school so the following are safe:
ACC - Florida St (still playing), Boston College, Miami, North Carolina
B1G - Michigan St, Illinois
PAC - Washington St, Arizona St (still playing), California (still playing)
SEC - Mississippi St
The following non-power schools are most likely safe at 6-6 or if win to be 6-6:
AAC - Tulane
MWC - Utah St
MAC - Toledo (beat both other MAC schools at 6-6)
CUSA - Florida International (good win at Miami FL)
IND - Army (still has 1 game left)
It comes down to either 6-6 Kent St or 6-6 Eastern Michigan:
Kent St won head-to-head over Eastern Michigan
Both schools beat 2 bowl eligible schools
Kent St lost to (but played) both Wisconsin and Auburn
Eastern Michigan beat Illinois
I think Eastern Michigan gets in with their win over Illinois as the tiebreaking factor.

Utah State is 7-5, fyi. MWC teams have been left out before, like Wyoming last year, so they might not necessarily be safe.
I think some of it comes down to what administration is willing to pony up money. Like between the 6 win MAC teams, if one offers to buy more tickets to the bowl, they probably get the bid. I'd probably lean more towards Kent getting left out, but I agree with you that it's likely Kent or EMU out.

RE: Bowl Eligible schools, 2019
Tulane is safe because the AAC has a contracted bowl spot for them.
The teams vulnerable are MAC and CUSA teams, because they have more eligible teams than guaranteed bowl spots, Liberty (and possibly Army) as they do not have guaranteed spots either.

I missed that Utah St was 7-5. I was not saying they were safe because they are in the Mountain West but rather they had wins over San Diego St, Wyoming, and Nevada which are decent teams. They also lost to a pretty good Wake Forest by 3. I never considered their conference as a reason of being safe.
Kent St and Eastern Michigan is a crap shoot. It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

The conference plays a big part. Each conference has bowl tie ins, after those are taken up the remaining schools in that conference kinda have to scramble for a bowl.
https://collegefootballnews.com/2019/01/...conference
The MWC has 6 bowl tie ins and a conditional one with 7 eligible teams, so it's a little up in the air, but not as bad as other conferences.
The MAC has 8 eligible teams and only 5 slots, so they could be in trouble. Conference USA is in the same boat, 8 teams and 5 spots.

The MWC has 7 bowl tie ins and 7 eligible teams, so they should be safe, unless the Hawaii Bowl does something weird and takes an AAC team over a MWC team.
The MAC has 8 eligible teams and only 5 slots, so they could be in trouble. Conference USA is in the same boat, 8 teams and 5 spots.
An MW team is vulnerable because the MW has five guaranteed spots and seven eligible teams.
The MW does have a condititional tie with the Cheez-It Bowl, if the Big 12 or PAC cannot fill their slots. But that is up in the air. And the Hawaii Bowl will choose an MW or AAC team for its game.
But bottom line is, 7 teams for only 5 guaranteed spots.

Edited my post for accuracy.
Boise could make the NY6 Bowl, which would sure up the MWC, if Cincy wins the AAC and Boise wins the MWC.

Edit part of it again, as you were right about the Hawaii Bowll - that is not guaranteed to the MW, they could go AAC instead.
So right now, the MW has 7 eligible teams for 5 guaranteed spots.
