2019-2020 Predictions
Will we recover from Hawks worst ever season as a head coach? He did go 8-20 his first year at Quincy. Last year was 8-24.
I really hope we win at least 15 games. We have a tough OCC schedule though with games @MSU, @Oklahoma State, @ Ole Miss, Oakland. Those are all pretty guaranteed losses in my book. If we could get 5-7 wins in OCC play that'd be awesome.
I haven't looked into the MAC/MAC West very much. Sure would be nice to get back to our winning ways and at least place in the top two of the West.

This is NOT last years team.
First or second in MAC West
21+ wins on season.

RE: 2019-2020 Predictions
Success for me would be getting back to Cleveland. Anything short of that, would be failure.

Just curious what you have heard or watched that would warrant such a turnaround from a 2-16 team in conference last year. I might be wrong but I didn’t think any of the newcomers were super hyped up recruits. I know Johnson is back but I never really saw him as a major scoring threat.
I hope you are right. Just seen nothing else anywhere to lead me to believe this team will be better than mediocre to average at best.

RE: 2019-2020 Predictions
Unless the injury bug bites hard again I would expext a bounceback to maybe the .500 mark in conference, but I think 21+ wins is absolute fantasy.

Changing my prediction now that Flowers appears to be healthy, 20 wins. Hawk 6 year contract 425,000 per year.

IMO
Brandon, Patrick are locks to start up front.
Mike Flowers is a lock to move back to 2 guard with the addition of two quality PG recruits.
Cruz has 2 years of JC experience at PG.
Artis-White was #2 in Mr Basketball voting & would not surprise me if he starts at point. He is only 5-9 but has hops to dunk the ball. Quick as lightning. His dad played basketball for State & is now is HS coach.
Either Wilkins or Whitens will start at SF.

When I predicted 10 wins or less last season many of you laughed at me.
We'll do better this season, but not much. 12 wins is what I see.

Just realistic. I've seen too many decades of over-estimating our prospects.
Hope I'm wrong on the downside, I just don't see the talent.

Ignoring the fact that very few people laughed at you, it's very cool of you to gloat about your sh!tty prediction coming true.

I'll take that as accolades, it's probably as good as it gets out of you.

RE: 2019-2020 Predictions
I haven't done my research yet on the rest of the MAC. I glanced at the All-conference teams from last year and there's a lot of seniors on those lists. I'm gonna assume the conference is not as deep as it was last year. Given that, I think we'd improve on 8 even if we had the same team as last year.
I think losing Dugan is gonna hurt a lot. He was so so good last year. I would love to see Flowers become one of the best PG's in the MAC. His competition is Marreon Jackson (TOL), Eugene German (NIU) LA Dodgers' 3rd baseman Justin Turner (BGSU) and probably some transfer or young guy I don't know about yet. My honest guess is that he stays kind of tier 2/3, but I hope I'm wrong. Johnson I think will be a solid but not really outstanding 5 (12/7). I think Squeaky Wilkins takes a steps forward and asserts himself as a solid MAC starter (10/6/2.5).
After those 3, we're gonna need some guys to show something we haven't seen yet, especially at the 2 and the 3. I'm hopeful that Emilien will emerge, but it might be tough for him to get starters minutes in the frontcourt. It would be great to see Printy develop into Pokeley, but I don't know if he's gonna play enough defense for that comp. Whitens is listed as a guard, but I'm worried his game is gonna be closer to Wilkins. I really want to see him make some 3's. WBR the Quebecois shot it really well last year. Maybe he'll step up at the 2? Maybe Squeaky will make some 3's and play the 3 and Emilien will be a stretchy 4? Maybe Emilien will shoot well and play the 3? I see he's listed at 6'6". Thought he was bigger than that. Did we get more honest about height like the NBA did? I'm not even gonna speculate on the freshman until I see them. I've had my optimism bring me pain too many times for that lol.
Starters by February 1: Flowers, WBR, Whitens, Wilkins, BJ
Big minutes from: Emilien, Printy, a PG we haven't met yet, Wright or Barrs, Ikongshul
Verdict: Yikes idk man. There's some talent there, but it's young guys who have never really shown it. Flowers is the only guy we've seen be an above average MAC guy. BJ is the only guy we've seen be an average MAC starter (and that might be generous).
12 wins. 9 vs. D1. 5 in the conference. Hockey team wins the whole damn thing, though.
