RE: 2019-20 MAC Basketball Transfers (Updated)
NIU Updates:
NIU has added a number of offers to recruits of the 2020 class. Here's the intel.
Ahron Ulis - PG - Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights) - 5'9" (or 6'2" depending on the source) - 2* - According to Prep Hoops, Ulis is "one of the premier point guards in the state at his position. He is a guard that handles the ball well and is particularly effective working in the pick and roll game. Ulis is a sound jump shooter and is actually best pulling up from both mid-range and three. Acrobatic finishes at the rim. Advanced feel passing at the lead guard spot."
Ulis also has offers from DePaul, UIC, Toledo, Milwaukee, New Mexico, SIU, and South Dakota.
Jeremiah Williams - PG - St. Laurence (Burbank) - 6'3" - 2* - Williams also has offers from Detroit, Milwaukee, Valparaiso, and Akron.
R.J. Ogom - PF - Homewood-Flossmoor - 6'5" - 2* - RJ also has offers from Milwaukee and Purdue Fort Wayne.
Frank Jakubicek - PF - Cary-Grove - 6'8" - 2* - From the Northwest Herald: "Jakubicek scored 12.8 points, grabbed 7.4 rebounds and shot 45.6% on 3-pointers (26 of 57) last season, while hitting 55.6% overall from the field. He has trained with Jacobs girls basketball coach Jonny Reibel at Evolution Athletics in Buffalo Grove since his freshman year and last year played with Rolling Meadows star Max Christie on the Illinois Wolves. Being on Christie’s team did not hurt when it came to exposure to college coaches."
"McCloud said college coaches see Jakubicek as a stretch 4, a power forward type who can challenge defenses with his outside shooting ability. For his senior season, McCloud still wants his big man inside."
Jakubicek also has offers from DePaul, Wright State, Western Michigan, Akron, UIC, and Milwaukee.
And, one other player offerd although this time from the 2021 class.
Scottie Ebube - PF - Mundelein - 6'8" - 2* - Prep Hoops had this to say (about a year ago): "Mundelein big man Scotty Ebube definitely deserves consideration among the better bigs in the 2021 class after seeing him in person. Has a physically mature body already so he might not grow much more, but he is probably about 6’7” now. Physical rebounder down low. Offensively he displayed quality footwork in the post with a few up and unders along with other fundamentally sound moves. Sometimes didn’t finish them, but that will come in time. Was actually impressed with how he passed the ball and handled in space at his size."
Ebube also has offers from Miami and Cleveland State.
