My prediction of the year is that UTEP is in the top 100. I think they win several games this year.

Yes, but on the bright side, if these ranking turn out to be accurate, my North Texas team should retain our Texas Champ title.
Although I have to admit, I did not expect UTSA to land this low on the list. I thought Charlotte would be our next team. I know the Runners are a bit down, but should they actually collapse like this, Wilson has to be fired.
Old Dominion, and perhaps Western should show up before us.

Last season we blew too many first half leads. Although I think our new "higher powered" offense will fix that issue, we still don't deserve a top 50 ranking until we prove something on the field.

Meh, they had some good games and some bad games. Getting ripped for 49 by UMass, 45 by Appy, and 42 by FIU is not the end of the world but not really “top-notch” either.
Quote:Marshall visits Boise and hosts Cincy. Tough but not outmanned.
I’ve had a vision that we will beat Boise.
Charlotte has offense and punting gave a ton of points away. Defense was pretty good all year.
Offense or Punting gave 14 to App, 21 to Umass and at least 7 to FIU

Glad to see we’re in the Sun Belt, apparently. Another example of why you can’t take these things seriously. They know virtually nothing about non-P5 teams. Given our transfers I expect us to be SIGNIFICANTLY better than this (and bowl eligible), this year.

Expect Charlotte to be near the bottom of these until they make a bowl. Plenty of winnable games and talent on the field this year.

It's really sad we have more teams in than SBC and MAC. I think our bottom 4 are better than their bottom for, well maybe except UTEP. I haven't figured UTEP out, went from top tier of CUSA west to lucky to win a game.

For a conference without any flagships we sure have a few anchors. I truly hope that changes this season.

When was that?
In the first year of 2.0 and probably three years after that. The West at that time had Tulsa, Tulane, Houston, Rice, SMU and UTEP. Tulsa was the only program that had any pulse in the division.

RE: Orlando Sentinel: 2019 countdown
UTEP since joining CUSA
2005 • 5-3 in CUSA. 8-4 overall. Lost GMAC Bowl 45-13 to Toledo
2006 • 3-5, 5-7
2007 • 2-6, 4-8
2008 • 4-4, 5-7
2009 • 3-5, 4-8
2010 • 3-5, 6-7. Lost New Mexico Bowl 52-24 to BYU
2011 • 2-6, 5-7
2012 • 2-6, 3-9
2013 • 1-7, 2-10
2014 • 5-3, 7-6. Lost New Mexico Bowl 21-6 to Utah State
2015 • 3-5, 5-7
2016 • 2-6, 4-8
2017 • 0-8, 0-12
2018 • 1-7, 1-11
So yeah, the last two years are a downgrade from the norm. But the norm was 3-5 or 2-6, not 5-3 or 6-2.
