If Rhoades had been convinced to stay would you be upset? There’s a high probability we would’ve won the conference and been in the NCAA tournament by now. Should we only hire coaches we think want to stay at Rice their whole career? That sounds like a terrible decision to me.

Rhoades definitely wanted to leave, and especially for VCU.

If coaches don't want to stay, then how can they be convinced to stay? You want Karlgaard to hire ambitious coaches and then somehow talk them out of their ambition. 01-wingedeagle

I agree. We need to hire ambitious coaches. I was questioning what WRC wanted JK to do. Our program was on the correct trajectory with Rhoades and it seems to be back on that path with Pera.

Rhoades was a bad hire. He did not recruit players who wanted to be at Rice. Pera is doing just the opposite.
