I think that might have been changed in 2010 from what I can find, so he may be wrong.

I'd rather be able watch the bowl game than not be able to. CBSSN is on no where. Hell, my local bar didn't even get it when I tried to watch an AFL game.

We need one more bowl to keep the conference at 5 during the Myrtle off years. Maybe try and sign a tie-in with the Arizona Bowl for those two off years.

CBS Sports Network does indeed stream on their site.

I've watched several games on their this year.

I could see you guys being left without a chair if you don't win the West. You guys have basically no proof that you'll travel to any game (and Indy isn't coming open to save you this year) while both of the other West eligible teams is going to have a lot more realistic proof of fan travel, even if neither program is really certain to sell bowl tickets well this year.

Now, if ULM wins the West, I believe the bowl policy was updated to guarantee a bowl eligible CCG loser a bowl game, so a West champ ULM should be fine.

Where it gets tricky is if you lose these next couple games. In theory, the exact same can be said about AState or UL, but both of those still have essentially a gimme win left on their schedule.

If ULM wins the West they'll be 8-4. They'd be going to a bowl even if they lose the CCG game. Doesn't matter what the bowl policy update is. We have a good, if very brief, history of fan travel to a bowl game. We sent 24,000 to Shreveport (100 miles away) in 2012. ULL is 45 minutes from NOLA and all they've proven is that they have good fan travel to New Orleans and nowhere else.

That will raise a ruckus from Cajun fans. But it's true.

I'm no ULL fan, but you're crazy man.
You have a good, if very brief, history of fan travel to a bowl game?
You have been to one game that is closer to your stadium than ULL-NO Bowl. (you've only been to one right?)
The I-bowl is literally the best option for ULM and Tech attendance wise much like the NO bowl is for ULL.

All they have proven is they have good travel to NO and nowhere else? Have they been to another bowl? They have proven they can pack the NO bowl. They haven't proven that they wouldn't travel to another bowl, just that they are the best option attendance wise for NO.

I was pretty proud of our showing in NO, but it Arkansas State more than pulled their weight in attendance in that game. As much as I love my school, we are not going to put as many people in NO as ULL can and neither will ULM. That said I'm sure they would be happy to have ULM in the bowl game and I'm sure ULM would travel well.

I popped over here since a few predictions are saying us versus ULL or ULM to see what was being said. The NO bowl is probably the only one that I can personally attend this year so for selfish reasons I wouldn't mind it. The game vs A State was fun and the bowl was actually very nice. Probably one of the top few bowls I have personally been able to attend.

Cash influx has nothing to do with the strength of a bowl. It's not like the league gets that money. Especially in the case of the Cure bowl, which gives most of that money to cancer research.

The other thing is that CBSSN frankly does a far better job with bowl coverage than ESPN. 4 letter Network reaches more eyeballs, but you're going to sit through a 3 hour infomercial for the College Football Playoff to get there...

I thought the Bowl Directors get all the money, while everyone else breaks even or loses money.

Not saying you're wrong buy you're the only person that I've seen say this. They have CBS Sport HQ but don't stream the actual CBSSN live TV feed. Even 100% of cord cutters I've asked say this. How did you find their stream?

I'll caveat that for the last couple of weeks I've had issues with the page not loading properly due to too many redirects. I blame that on the website (which 247 shares) as being absolutely ******* terrible.

Hulu live carries it as part of their regular lineup. If it's just a matter of watching the one game, do the free trial and cancel after the game. But I do understand the frustration in lack of channel availability. None of the standard services here carry it either.

With the new announcement on the New Orleans Bowl and with so many team .500 and above the bowl outlook is going to get interesting

I think we’re gonna have a record breaking bowl season with 7 teams
Bowl Eligible but only 5 will go bowling

New Orleans Bowl
Troy vs UAB

Montgomery Bowl
Louisiana vs Eastern Michigan

Cure Bowl
Georgia Southern vs South Florida

Mobile Bowl
App State vs Buffalo

Arizona Bowl
Arkansas State vs Nevada

ULM left out
Coastal Left out

Leaving CCU out the first year of bowl eligibility would be devastating to their fanbase. They'd join App and GaSo being "firsts" in getting to a bowl along with eligibility. Poor guys.

Nobody remembers but we did too.

6-6 in our first year of full bowl eligibility in 2013 and left out. Then 7-5 in 2014 and left out again.

Can confirm. It is devastating to the fan base....

ULM went 6-6 in 2013 and it sucked but I think this year would be worse if we were left out.
