We should know about his elgibility this week when the class is shared with the media.

BTW, what I like about the video is that when he shoots the 3-ball it never touches the rim.

That is one pure, beautiful shot.

yes hopefully we will see it in an actual game

True. The good thing is that he did it apparently consistently in high school.

Usually at the MAC-level folks talk about DEVELOPING players. Well, he appears to have a power conference type 3-point shot coming out of h.s./prep school.

I believe Oakland basketball on the way down! Kampes team severely underachieved last season plus he's getting older making it more difficult to recruit young talent. However, I see UofD with Davis as coach a big threat to us now . He's going to schedule tough teams and kids are going to want to play against great competition that will enable them to overcome their recruiting disadvantages.

Coach Murphy has got to get this team to the MAC Championship and win it. I believe with this roster, we will have a great chance!

This is looking more and more like the 'perfect storm' for EMU MBB.

As most know, i don't remember the last FORWARD we've had who has a stroke like Rafus.

We've had scorers. We've had guards who could shoot (e.g. Lee). But I can't remember the last FORWARD who could stretch the court like Rafus probably can do.

As I posted before, if Rafus and Minnie can shoot from the arc, teams which double and tripled teamed JT4 will be in a pickle.

It is called: "Pick your poison." Sag off Rafus and hope his shot isn't falling. Play Rafus straight up and leave JT4 pretty much one on one. IF a guard sags on JT4, PJ could kill them from the outside when he's hitting it.

Any given game, any or all of 4 players could be big offensive threats.

IMO, JT4 needs to do a better job of kicking it out to the open shooters. Too often he'll force a shot through a double team rather than making the pass. His game could explode if he does this.

i'm as excited as everyone else, but i'm going to reserve some expectations of greatness until we a) see Rafus on the roster, and b) watch him play a game. Jodan Price was highly touted and had a gorgeous looking shot, but it never went in and he was unable to play big minutes. DaShonte Riley was highly recruited and was a great defensive player, but he was a zero on offense. high ranking doesn't guarantee anything.

Jodan was a good prospect but didn't do anything at his prior school. Doubt he was in Rafus' class.

DaShonte was a 'what you see is what you get', didn't do much at 'Cuse. He, I believe, was always a defender but not much offensively.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised no one has brought up Jaquan Hart.

Hart was the type of high ceiling player who didn't put it together in college and have a super career.

I see 247sports.com has Rafus as a 3 star recruit. Thought I saw where someone else gave him 4. (this video had him as a 4-star recruit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeoaB6GN36U )

I know a local kid who was a solid 3 star player and signed with an ACC school. Rafus is better. Bigger and better pure shooter. Both play SF.

All of that said, I'm 99% sure of his offense based on the video I've seen. Lot of the video were filmed during a small number of games or events. He would have a bunc h of 'nothing but net' 3-pointers in a specific game. Hard not to believe my eyes.

I'm with all of you guys on building up too much on Rafus because he's just a freshman. However, Jodan, Hess, Soucie etc had this kids game. I've watched his film and saw his offers. Obviously he's a risk for some unknown reason but Rafus will add depth at a minimum.

The only thing I don't want is another Daryl Garret. The kid was an NBA player in the making with unbelievable potential. If you recall, he played until Christmas break and then was academically ineligible for MAC play. I watched Garret play, and he layed 20+ points on a P5 school as a true freshman. Yep Garret had game, big time game!

Guys, we have Brad Soucie and Andre Rafus in the same sentence?

Soucie was what a pure shooter, nothing else? Rafus appears to be a very, very good all around player who can shoot the 3-ball, dunk, block shots, etc.
