I haven't been in a Target Store since their bathroom blowup. And I really don't care about their bathrooms. If they had put in a bathroom for 4 different genders I would still be shopping there. I stopped shopping there because they were basically bowing to social activists to 'virtue signal' for marketing purposes. Like I'll never go to the gun range that banned their non-existent Muslim customers just to make news.

This, they'll eventually relent like they did the last time they said they'd stop selling "assault rifles" and none of the people singing their praises right now will even remember.

Yep, this may actually be a desperate plea for business. Their stock is in the toilet, down around 50% in the past 16 months (hard to imagine in this market/economy).
They already don't sell rifles and have no significant foothold in the gun culture, so they figure why not try to become the sporting goods outlet for the "woke" alt-left?
Sad.
They have camouflaged pajamas?

They can do as they please. And do without my money. But like others, I already wouldn't give them my business.

I visit their location in Myrtle Beach occasionally....just look for deals on golf equipment and clothing. I rarely buy anything not discounted. Their prices are fcking outrageous. I could care less about their politics concerning guns. It is their business as to what they sell. I imagine this is probably a sound business decision derived by lots of lawyers and market consultants.

Fake news, please retract and disavow.
Quote:Academy stands pat as Dick’s, Walmart restrict gun sales
Academy, the largest sporting goods retailer in the Houston area with 29 stores, did not announce any changes to its gun sales policy.
“We serve a broad base of customers, and outdoor sports, including hunting and shooting sports, are an important tradition and recreational activity for many of our customers and their families,” Academy stated. “We are strongly committed to ensuring the legal, safe and responsible transfer of firearms.”
A spokeswoman did not respond to a request for further comment.

Wal-Mart is also coming out about this issue. They are more conservative. The majority of the people in this country wants the AR-15 banned.

The majority of the people in this country obviously don't that amending a constitutional amendment can't just be a simple vote and "let's do that".

Any evidence to support such a broad, sweeping claims?

Quote:Palmetto State Armory would like to go on record stating that we support the Second Amendment. While this may seem like an obvious statement, we as a company felt it necessary to make our opinion known to the general public. Palmetto State Armory also strongly supports the First Amendment which enables individuals to voice their opinions, even those in contrast with our own. We believe that a primary purpose of the Second Amendment is actually to protect the First Amendment.
In regards to the actions taken today by the CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods to no longer sell the AR-15 platform, while we do not agree with this decision, we recognize the fact that capitalism gives him the right to make this call. PSA however, does have an issue when misinformation is spread in the very next sentence by referring to the platform as an “assault rifle.” AR stands for Armalite Rifle which pays homage to the company that originally created the platform. To blame the rifle or a high capacity magazine for the actions of an evil man is illogical and is only applied when referring to firearms. Senseless acts of violence are a terrible plague on society that we all recognize we need to try and prevent as a community, but to blame a tool such as a firearm is at very best missing the point of the problem. When a vehicle is used to commit an act of violence we as a society do not blame the car, we do not blame the speed, or the steering wheel, but rather the driver. It is our hopes that we can approach this negativity with humanity and both sides of the argument can come together and have a civil and intellectual conversation that continues to make this amazing county better. We are all in this together, and we all want the same thing. Safety, happiness, and the “American Dream.”

Academy lost a lot of business after they decided to move so-called "assault rifles" to backroom after Newtown. The idiots were obviously caving because they left similar guns in the front because they had wood on them. Maybe they learned from their past stupidity.
