Dick's Sporting Goods
http://money.cnn.com/2018/02/28/news/com...index.html

I heard this on Fox this morning as I was driving in.

Sometimes if Congress won't help, businesses do. I see nothing wrong in what they're doing. If they don't feel comfortable selling ARs anymore or want to raise the limit on what age, I think they're well within their right.

Those not happy will take business elsewhere.

Kudos to Dick's Sporting Goods - some common sense stuff. I'll make it a point to buy some of my kid's sports gear from them.

Nothing more than a symbolic move, but it's their business. They can do what they want.

Used to spend a good bit of money in Dick's between buying hunting and fishing gear, my son's sports equipment & shoes. Haven't spent a penny since the 2012 ban.

The 2012 ban?

They banned the sale of AR platform rifles in Dick's branded stores in 2012. This is just them ending them in their Field and Stream branded stores.

The 2012 ban?

They already stopped selling rifles after Sandy Hook, but felt the need to announce it again for some reason.

They are free to do as they wish and apeak as they wish. I personally will just choose to remove them from my list and spend money elsewhere. No problems.

Anyone who buys ammo or ARs from Dicks because they thought that was the best place to buy those items needed a how to primer anyways.

Think 20 year olds and younger will sue them for every dime and demand they be closed?

My thoughts exactly. Only reason to buy from a place like Dick's is if you wanted to pay $899 for a firearm you could get online for $500. Same with Gander Mountain.

Support your local gun store, and the smaller manufacturers. They make higher quality products anyway.

Only things I usually buy at Dicks are under armor shirts and shorts that I work out in. Maybe bait.

It is a possibility, but of course, its their business and they can do whatever they please with it

That's my take. They want to not sell a product - knock yourselves out.

As someone else already noted - this latest announcement only affects Field & Stream stores - 35 stores I believe........much ado about not much.

On behalf of Cabela's, Gander Mountain, etc......

Thank you.

I'm sure they'll be more than happy to take Dick's business.
