Will look incredible when the nez is finished with the scoreboard over it.

Anyone know the dimensions of the existing board? Looks like they will be able to use the existing frame to hold the new one.

Also this. While the font doesn’t bother me the chef hat is terrible.

They could've been clever and made the dimensions 49' by 35' ......

They should have stuck with this version. Still not ideal, but better then what is now the design. :(

Apparently, there was an event yesterday by ODU officials and some season ticket holders were invited. Someone told me this eariler today when I was on top of the 49 street garage watching construction. They said "Phase two is this project will build more luxury suite over top of the new pressbox, a new place north end zone and a third row on the Eastside stands. The price will be about the same as Phase one."

What? Carve out more luxury suites in existing press box areas, or build on top... how could they build on top?
"A new place north endzone"?
What does that even mean?
And wr have to raise another 65mill?

I'll give it a shot,

In phase 2, luxury suites will be built on top of the press box. The NEZ will be renovated and the east stands will be expanded.

This should bring the seating capacity close to or at 30,000 seats.

So new suites over press boxes.
"A new place" looks like autocorrect for replace nez.
And third level on east side.

Total const cost about the same as the phase 1 renovation.

Interesting. Wonder of that holds any water. If so that means that nez will be as is for quite a while. Which will irritate many as it'll feel unfinished. Buuuut if they come out and have a clearly defined vision and goal to pull all 3 of those off and say "We want this. You want this. Deal with the nez for a few extra years and we will do all of this by 202x." I think that's totally doable.

That could all be done in 3 separate phases too. My guess would be NEZ first, then the suites. At that point I hope demand makes it imperative to build the upper deck.

More suites would probably be first. They will generate more revenue than the NEZ.

Agreed. Plus, it’s redundant. The only time we shouldn’t use the shield is when it’s not clear it’s ODU. In this case it has the whole name right under it. Use the shield and put the big blue lion graphics back on the stadium too please.

True. The only thing worse than the chef hat crown is the newer academic “crown”.
