Don't Overreact
This sucks, but this team was 1-6 last year. They've come a long way since then. They just don't have the offense right now to beat Toledo.

I know the defense is going to take it on the chin for this one, but you can't expect them to save your ass every game. At some point the offense was going to need to pick up the slack.

Finish the season strong, win 9 games, and lets go win a bowl game for once.

Proud of this group. It's really hard to reverse a backslide and they did it.

+100

Future looks good....Toledo obviously had a game plan to exploit something in the defense and no reason to bang on an individual in reply to your positive post.

Let's finish strong and win a bowl game this year.

I agree. They took Sutton out of the game and just torched Smalls all night. Childers has no chance leading a team back from two scores down. Regardless, they were 10 point underdogs earlier in the week and that's where we ended up. They played hard...they just have absolutely zero playmakers on offense

Young qb. What do u expect? His accuracy was hit and miss. Good team but not great.

RE: Don't Overreact
Same here. There's usually just a few small things between good and great. Swap Woodside to NIU and Childers to Toledo and who wins? NIU pretty easily. Sometimes its just 1 key player if you have a good core group. NIU has a good core, just need that playmaker on offense. They have 2 on defense. Just need Childers to start making those key plays. So many drives come done to making 1 play.

I have serious questions about Childers being a long term solution at QB, but that's probably a conversation for the offseason.

We have nobody better than Smalls?
He has been torched constantly.

Nobody from NIU should pass that many times.

RE: Don't Overreact
Toledo receivers and tight end were wide open all night.
No pass rush was a huge disappointment.
Toledo went up the middle with the run and pass a lot.

I think tears had some chances tonight with creating separation but Childers couldn't get the ball on a couple of them. Tears will be all Mac by senior year

Agree that we should feel good overall about the season. Also agree that Childers may not be the answer next year.

I think we should end our football program now.
Cancel the season, return some money, send every one home.
Demolish the facilities, just plant grass fields, make it look like nothing was ever there.
..
..
and you should see me when I over react!

The backup QBs have to be feeling like they are in play.

I just hope that Jawaun Johnson is OK, did he play at all the second half? He is one of our better defensive players and if he misses a game or two it will be very difficult.

He played the first couple series and then came out. They should be able to handle BSU if you were playing LB, so lets hope he's back for WMU.

I hope it gets figured out so we start 2018 knowing who our QB is. We play FSU on September 22nd, and I will be there. I hate FSU. I want to see a game like we had against OSU a couple of years ago, where we hang and at least have a chance.
