Had UCF instead played Tennessee (0 and 5 in SEC) and 'Bama played Austin Peay (or Mercer who they play in a few weeks) their last games, I suspect that the SOS might have been reversed. Both teams would beat either of those opponents.

If you are worried about the strength of Alabama's schedule, don't, it gets much harder: Of the their four remaining regular season games, they play three teams that are currently ranked #14, #16, and #19 in the CFP rankings, and then they have the SEC title game, probably against Georgia.

So rest easy, we'll find out soon enough if Alabama is a Paper Elephant or not. Based on past history, I bet not.

The same isn't necessarily true of UCF, who currently isn't scheduled to play any teams in the CFP rankings, only a possible game with #23 Memphis in the AAC title game.

i would say that this early, a good portion of those (obviously not all, or even the majority) have one or zero wins against a CFP top 25....... not unlike UCF. while UCF has been blowing out bottom feeders, some of those in the CFP top 25 have been barely escaping their schedule. yes, i know, i know.... P5 P5 P5 schedule........ but its enough to question the circumstances.

I knew that their schedule gets harder and even said so a couple of post. I suspect that you are correct but also suggest that they will squeak by at least one of those games.

I won't ever understand a fan from the AAC using the argument that another team hasn't played anyone and doesn't deserve their ranking(Alabama). That is the exact argument that is used against any good team in the AAC, and we all know that isn't always true(it obviously is sometimes).

It sucks, but for G5 it's basically NY6 or bust for a decent bowl. From a bowl presitge perspective, there is a huge drop off for the next best AAC team. Best case scenario, your team is in the Peach Bowl. Otherwise you're in the "who cares" bowl against a 6-6 SEC team. Yay.

It's called using their own argument against them. Not hard to understand.

I did a quick look at the CPF rankings since they began in 2014 -

Non Privileged 5's in the CFP rankings historically: ECU 1 ('14), Marshall 1 ('14), Boise St 2 ('14, '16), Memphis 2 ('15, '17), Toledo 1 ('15), Houston 2 ('15, '16), Temple 2 ('15, '16), Navy 2 ('15, '16), W Mich 1 ('16), UCF 1 ('17). AAC 10 appearances, MWC 2, MAC 2, CUSA 1

Non Privileged 5's number of weeks in CFP poll: Navy 9, Houston & Boise St 8, W Mich 7, Temple 6, Memphis 4, Toledo 2, ECU, UCF & Marshall 1. Highest rank achieved is Memphis at #13 in 2015

We need to add Boise and Air force. That would essentially kill the G4.
