RE: Texas State @ Louisiana
Just like Akron, Texas State is going to have a problem matching our vertical passing game. You can run all you want...but when it comes time to eat up big chunks of yardage by slinging the rock...Texas State is going to fall short. I'm confident the Cajuns win, but wouldn't be overly shocked with a loss considering how awful at times the Cajuns look. But it's Cajun Field...since Hud showed up only Malzahn beat him at home. If you have money put it on the Cajuns.

Either way its much better than Texas Tech putting us somewhere near the New Mexico border...and then charging $5 to catch a bus to the stadium.
We all hate our Alumni Association so much we make them put up with foreigners every week.
Seriously, there is usually a pretty good spot given to the visiting AA; but don't waste your time eating there. Visit the infamous 'Eauque Tree Gang' under the big oak tree up against the fence on the West side of the parking lot[near where lot D meets TG2 just north of Rhinehart Dr.], or the 'Crew de Chew', located on the west side of the maintenance building [that black box on the diagram above] west of the stadium. For that matter, find any large tent full of Cajun fans and laizzez les bon temps roule.

Vertical passing defense isn't as strong as our run defense but we stopped Tech and Wyomings vaunted passing offenses I think we will be okay. I still think UL wins at this point but feel win have what it takes to get the win.

USM did have some success throwing deep on Mager several times. Although I think he had a sore knee (?) during that game...of course, I could also be wrong...

Each year we hear about the up and comers...they usually flounder in the end to the heavy favorites (unless you are FIU). Last year it was ULM...that didn't go well. Year before it was WKU...also didn't end with anything great. Regression to the mean is the main reason I pick the Cajuns.

UL is gonna be the best rushing team they have faced this year. Not the best passing team, that was Texas Tech, but I would argue better than the others. Our defense is our biggest weak point. So if Texas State can shut down our offense they have a very good chance to win. But that means shutting down both aspects. I just don't see that happening.

According to astrocajun, two fans in this thread equal a contingent and a lot of wishful thinking.
Maybe there's some in some other threads with a hardon against Louisiana, who cares? It would be wishful thinking if the teams weren't close in talent. There is no agenda here, Texas State appears to be the better team. They curb stomped a pretty good MWC team (Phil Steele had them projected 3rd, in a much better conference than the SBC), while Louisiana struggled with Akron most of the game? Texas State has clearly outperformed Louisiana to this point. That's not wishful thinking. There is no agenda. Whether they are better, or whether they win, who knows. They could choke in conference.
Dude, please! You really are obvious!

ULM went 6-2 in league last year...Texas State would be looking at a 10 win season with that kind of record.

This will be a good test for the Bobcat's Defense, Focus and Mental Toughness because the Cajuns can compete running the ball and by passing over the top. Our Defense is solid, I mean very, very solid so giving Cajuns any more than 31 is basically saying their offense is way better than Tech and Wyoming which I doubt it, skilled players or not. They are very well coached and don't take too many penalties, but the defense is suspect and I think we now have the ability to drop some points. I'm not going to get a big head, I said we would win conference in 2014, but Tyler Jones coming in just upped the possibilites. Lets hope he can continue to improve with no turnovers and that our Defense just goes in there and does work like they have been doing.
The Cajuns offense is way more balanced then either Texas Tech or Wyoming. And the Cajuns are certainly more talented then Wyoming on offense, they are nothing special in my book. Should it rain as forcast, it will come down to the lines and I like the Cajuns Offensive line against Texas State front.

Louisiana Cajuns should be ready for TXST. Don't think it will be an easy win but see UL winning by 7 at home.

I will give you Tech because they have no run game period but can you explain to me your definition of way more balanced than Wyoming? I know you are telling me that the Cajuns are more talented and that Wyoming is nothing special on Offense but can you show me how you arrived at that opinion?

I don't look at single game results, or just the competition played. First, UL's passing game is not better then Texas Tech or Wyoming's. I watched Wyoming against Nebraska and Texas State, and UL has more talent at the skill positions on the offensive side of the football period.
The Cajuns lost four starters on offensive that beat a good ECU team in the New Orleans Bowl. You have yet to see the UL offense find consistency and rhythm yet this season. ECU is more talented then the Wyoming team I watched Saturday night. We have not seen that same offense that won 5 games down the stretch last season and beat a very talented ECU.
If UL finds that rhythm Saturday, Texas State will have a long ride back to San Marcos. If they don't it will be a struggle to win period.

I'm not talking about just passing, talent, or 2012. You said Louisiana is "way more" balanced, can you show me where you see that? When you say balanced I think your saying better at both the run and pass than Wyoming, as in we are fixing to face our best offense yet. Can you show me where you get that?
