I watched Wyoming against Nebraska and Texas State, and UL has more talent at the skill positions on the offensive side of the football period.

The Cajuns lost four starters on offensive that beat a good ECU team in the New Orleans Bowl. You have yet to see the UL offense find consistency and rhythm yet this season. ECU is more talented then the Wyoming team I watched Saturday night. We have not seen that same offense that won 5 games down the stretch last season and beat a very talented ECU.

If UL finds that rhythm Saturday, Texas State will have a long ride back to San Marcos. If they don't it will be a struggle to win period.

I'm not talking about just passing, talent, or 2012. You said Louisiana is "way more" balanced, can you show me where you see that? When you say balanced I think your saying better at both the run and pass than Wyoming, as in we are fixing to face our best offense yet. Can you show me where you get that?

The Cajuns have rushed for 874 yards and passed for 850 yards, are you saying they are not balanced compared to 967 yards on the ground and 1,614 yards passing for Wyoming after 5 games. Who is more balanced?

Please tell me how you think a Wyoming team that beat Air Force (1-4), Idaho and Northern Colorado is way more talented then UL? They have lost to the only two teams with a winning record on their schedule.

This game will be a battle and I expect it be one. But there is a reason UL is a 10 pt favorite in this game, its because we've only lost one game at home the past two seasons. Lets see what happens Saturday night.

Then please tell me how you think a ULL team that has beat an FCS team (bad one in fact) and a 1-4 Akron ranked 10 Spots above Georgia State is any more impressive than Wyoming's Wins? Not saying who is better, but neither Wyoming or ULL have a more "impressive" win.

Here is the difference, you and several others are using Wyoming as some landmark win and that somehow projects as a win over UL. There is no Cajun fan here talking about a big win over Akron, it was expected. This team has beaten good teams in the Sun Belt over the past few years. Texas State has yet to beat anyone in the Sun Belt, much less a bowl team. Now we will see what happens Saturday night.

So apprently saying ULL's wins are no more impressive than Wyoming's somehow is making me use Wyoming as a "landmark" win?. I said nothing about our team, I was pointing out a fact you can't say ULL is better than Wyoming based on the teams each has beaten, because believe it or not, the teams that both have beaten, ARE, terrible....

ACTUALLY... hardly anyone has said we will win (aside from those who have said they refuse to predict a loss for their bobcats).

Cajun fans have been the ones claiming their offensive production is vastly superior to Wyoming.

Our fans have asked what makes you believe that.
Cajun response has been "Wyoming hasn't beaten anyone this year, and their stats are lopsided."
Bobcat fans have said "who have the Cajuns beat that is vastly superior to Wyoming's wins?"

And that brought the condescension.

Yep a big win over Wyoming gives some the confidence to beat the Cajuns? Don't see it, meaning anything more talented then UL in Wyoming. But what the heck, come on down and enjoy the food and atmosphere. I expect one hell of a game Saturday night.

I dont seet the need to use Wyoming as a point of emphasis in this argument other than saying that Wyoming wasn't considered a one-dimensional team when they came into San Marcos.
TXST's D has been consistently good in all 4 games, not just against WYO.

TXST's D will be solid again and Louisiana's O will be sharp.
I really think the key to this game is going to be on the other side of the ball. TXST's O vs UL's D. Which ever unit plays better will make the difference.

I think the Cajuns win a close one. I could be wrong but that is my gut feeling.

Someone mentioned that Texas State will not be intimidated by the crowd at UL. I think they missed the point; if the crowd is big and loud, the CAJUNS will feed off of it. I hope it does not rain and put a damper on everything.

If you have never been to Cajun Field, I think you will enjoy the experience, but be sure and come early enough to walk around the tailgate areas. You will feel welcome at Cajun Field (until the Kickoff -:)

It is only Monday and the tension is already high lol this should be the second hardest team the bobcats have faced, obviously tech was #1, I have to agree it will come down to TXST offense vs ULL defense. If our frosh QB can play like he did against wyoming then we should be in for a slugfest. This is what I like to see in the Sun Belt.

I'm thinking the exact opposite. You will score against our defense. The question is if your defense will be able to stop our offense enough times. Everyone discounts the Zips as a bad team. They were one play away from beating Michigan. Nice little dig making a pathetic Tech team #1. I smell the birth of a rival. Have a safe trip to Lafayette and a long slow, safe and sad ride back home.

Like I said, you TX St folks get it. Its Tuesday morning and the thread is up to 7 pages. You'd think an in-state rivalry game would generate that kind of heat.

Come enjoy the tailgate. We'll feed you and give you booze and treat you as friends until game time.

Pretty sure he meant the REAL Tech, the one in Lubbock; not the posers in Ruston.

Hahaha good point. I guess we need to clarify which "Tech" when talking to non-Texas schools 04-cheers

Yes, Lubbock is what he alluded to . . . As to the game . . . in our first 3, our O was practically a "no show" The Wyo. game, the O had a "coming out" party of sorts . . Cats fans had been waiting all year for that type of offensive production . . . our D has been stellar all year. I also see this as our O Vs. UL's D. If we can limit the mistakes (and there will be some w/a freshman QB) and put up points, then I think our D can disrupt your O enough to squeak out a road win . . . Say AAAAAAA - MEN! 04-rock

RE: Texas State @ Louisiana
I like that our administrations are squaring off publicly. A Louisiana - Texas State rivalry game has a potentially sexy sound to it. The area between San Marcos and Lafayette is loaded with Alums from both universities. So if this takes off over the next few years, it could mean extra $'s for both schools.

Some of us said this before the season started, but nobody really expected that TXST could be competive in this game this year. Now this game could have a big influence on how conference results pan out. It's pretty exciting for TXST fans... now we just need a good game or 3, and the administrations have to sell sell sell them.

I love those type bets... If I wasn't rooting for the same team as you, I'd be in on it in a heartbeat.
