Oh really? I heard that same stuff when Jim Crow ended and people were saying well our nation is going to hell in a hand basket because now those black people (actually used another word I don't use) are sub-human, stupid, lazy and inferior in all ways.
It is also sad to think because people don't have the same sexual orientation that they shouldn't have the same rights and while they can be used for their talents, they can't be allowed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that a hetrosexual person is entitled to. I served in 2 branches of the U.S. Military and I could swear I was part of trying to see that people had those three chances. I remember when if a white man dated a black woman (or vice versa) that both would suffer from those who didn't think mixed race dating was right, and many were cheated of enjoying a meaningful relationship because someone didn't care about those words in our constitution. I didn't serve this country and suffer each day from injuries I got in service to this nation to see people denied life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
You obviously don't believe in God or what he instructs us to do in our lives. See Sodom and Gomarrah and what happened to them because of same sex appetites. God tells us to NOT tolarate anything against his laws and commandments. He tells us that we as males are to love and marry females, and be fruitful and multiply. Our leaders and citizens trying to eliminate God from our society will be the downfall of our country. God didn't approve of what happened blacks in this country, and i am not sure why you would even bring that up. However, God does abhore same sex love and marriage. Totally apples and oranges.
And creating laws based solely on what you think your god wants is unconstitutional.
Tell God that...
We did...it's called the separation of church and state...good job Thomas Jefferson.

That was an exteme act by a group of fools. Reasonable decent people are all over and they don't look to harm anyone or even say anything negative towards people who they are homosexuals. You know that and I know that you know that, because there are millions of people all across our country that are not harmed or face anything due to their sexual orientation.

It seems to me that a person's personal business is their own personal business and I just don't see why it matters to society as whole. Moreover, I have never equated this type of social issue with that of African Americans, because in most cases one can clearly see that African Americans have a physical attribute that identifies them as being of African heritage. Whereas the other group doesn't have any identifier that shows what their orientation is; moreover most of the world doesn't give a damn.
The NAACP does not agree...they stated very clearly that gay rights are civil rights.
The NAACP is a paid for organization. They have long since lost their way.
In YOUR opinion...I'm sure the half million members would not agree.

In my reality. One week that group of ministers are quoting Bible scriptures talking about Sodom and Gomorrah. The next week they are claiming that it is a Civil Rights issue. The only superceding intervening cause that occured during that week was a nice fat check to that group of ministers from somebody representing the cause of homosexuals.

I love how I'm taking all kinds of sides today but that's not separation of church and state. Most laws were created because mankind felt they were what God wanted and there's nothing wrong with that. It's not unconstitutional. It's only unconstitutional if that law goes against the provisions of the constitution. Separation of church and state comes from this line "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"...which means no state run church and no restrictions on the free exercise of religion, which means religious groups can champion laws that fit their beliefs as long as they don't conflict with the constitution. It's a common misunderstanding.

There are more to my side that says there are not. People work with and are related to people that gay. There are far more incidents of not caring about someone's orientation, then there are of people doing violence. You see it everyday and you know it.

Tell it to their members...
Their members know it. As soon as the check clears, their Pastor is going to be supporting whatever cause he was paid to support, even if the cause is counter to the scripture that he claims he believes in. That is probably why Jesus had so much anger at the priests. He knew that they were on the take and perverting the teachings.

So I should ignore those incidents because "they're out of the norm"?
By your rational why do we even care about murder at all? Most people wish no harm to their fellow man...but what about those who do?

No, separation of church and state comes from Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802...it has alo been upheld by the US Suprme Court on several occasions...god has no place in politics.
Even our "in god we trust" we added back in the 1950s durning the Jim Crow era.

I never said anywhere that someone should be allowed to harm or murder someone. I even acknowledged in this thread that that the government is trying to correct a wrong by granting same sex couples Civil Unions.
I object to the radical feminist movement pushing this garbage down the throats of people. They are telling people what to think, when to think and how to think. And if you think differently then people like Mike Wallace are shunned and forced to apologize and crap like that. A man has a right to think how he wants and he shouldn't have to be fined by his employer or his league; or have to make some teary eyed B.S. apology on the public airwaves). You don't have to like a mans thoughts, but Mike Wallace is not out hurting people or none of that crap.
