RE: Bowen's reason for reopening the TN discussions
I wasted my time reading this entire thread. It is amazing to me how stupid some of the people that post on this board are in general about sports in general and the business side of sports in particular. If Bruce Pearl is such a good coach why does he always end up blacklisted either formally or informally?

He's a winner though.
I don't care. That was too classless to ignore.
I would call Pearlvert anything but a winner. Remind me, where is he now?
Getting paid by a Tennessee-Knoxville booster. So they must not be too pissed with him.
Real question... What would Pearl do with Josh Pastner's talent?
He didn't do much more with the ones he bribed to become butt chuggers.

I'm sure you know the answer as well as I do. He is a low life. lying cheat. Hell he did the same thing and got caught at the school before the butt chuggers.

Getting them here is one thing. Nobody will ever say Pastner can't get them here.
But what he does with them once they're here....? Completely different story. He's drowning.
If the regression of guys like Joe Jackson and Chris Crawford doesn't speak volumes, there's not much I can say for you.
The problem is you believe your own hype about how good these guys are to begin with
Oh, absolutely....
Since 2008, this board has been trying to compare every team with THAT team.....and so few people seem to understand that THAT team was once in a lifetime. In all likelihood, the stars probably won't ever be aligning like that for Memphis again.
We're so lucky the wife lets you take a break from your daily chores to post on this board. We will assume that she is ordering you to be a Memphis Tiger fan, because well...well because that's how your teams are chosen for you. I'm sure that the wife chooses what clothes you wear every day, and she has simply gone from choosing blue, to red, and now back to blue clothing.
I feel bad for you. It must be almost impossible getting 10 cents on the dollar on EBay, for all of that red makeup you have to unload.

I don't think you will have to worry about firing him. I figure he will be looking for a way out now. Who wants to work for guy who makes his decisions on who he is friends with. Who gives a damn if Hart is a nice guy. If he gets a deal where we play them only in the year they play us in fb, then I will give him credit. The last I looked san jose's bb team was not setting the world on fire and I assume he ran that program too.
Best thing that can happen to us is for Josh to get a job offer at another school and we decline to match.
Nick King, M. Crawford, and hopefully, Austin Nichols stay, JJ, Shaq, and Adonis hopefully stay, and a great hire convinces Pookie Powell to come, and we instantly become a final four contenders.
Yeah fire a guy who is averaging 25 wins a season, running the program the right way, and is a credit to the city and the University. If you think all these players signed because of who we are instead of who Josh is you are even more naive than I thought. Maybe we can hire Mike Davis or Tic Price.

Joe seems to be progressing even more after last night.

RE: Bowen's reason for reopening the TN discussions
As mentioned- a non-story here.
With the Big East schedules in flux, Bowen did his job keeping otherwise closing options open.
No story here...
