Come on, Lat. You're smarter than that. My point was, in his one year at a legitimate program with legitimate resources like Cincinnati, he showed he was a hell of a coach.
NOBODY can win consistently at Ole Miss as long as Tad Smith Coliseum is still standing.
I mean, if you win alot of games in the regular season, you just have to be a great coach right?

Bruce Pearl is an interesting name.
Kelvin Sampson will never work in college athletics again.
Jeff Capel's track record is worse than Pastner's.
Bruce Pearl used the murder of Lorenzen Wright to recruit againt Memphis. I will give up my season tickets if Memphis hires him.
He's a winner though.
I don't care. That was too classless to ignore.
I would call Pearlvert anything but a winner. Remind me, where is he now?

Getting paid by a Tennessee-Knoxville booster. So they must not be too pissed with him.

The only point I made is that there are a number of coaches who would do a MUCH better job at the University of Memphis than the current one......and yes, that list includes Andy Kennedy.
Instead of intelligent rebuttals, this place comes back with......

You say JP has not done well his players but I just do not buy that. Every coach has players that do not live up to expectations for one reason or another. However, if you are going to blame those guys on JP than you also have to credit for the players who have excelled under him. As a team they have struggled to pull it all together, and that is on JP without doubt. But he is a young coach and some of this should have been expected. With the core returning next year and the class he is bringing in I fully expect to start seeing much better results.
How many of Pastner's McDonald's All-Americans will be lottery picks?
WHo knows? How many were projected to be? One?

Oh, absolutely....
Since 2008, this board has been trying to compare every team with THAT team.....and so few people seem to understand that THAT team was once in a lifetime. In all likelihood, the stars probably won't ever be aligning like that for Memphis again.
We're so lucky the wife lets you take a break from your daily chores to post on this board. We will assume that she is ordering you to be a Memphis Tiger fan, because well...well because that's how your teams are chosen for you. I'm sure that the wife chooses what clothes you wear every day, and she has simply gone from choosing blue, to red, and now back to blue clothing.
I feel bad for you. It must be almost impossible getting 10 cents on the dollar on EBay, for all of that red makeup you have to unload.

You could have this team coached by Dana Kirk's corpse, and FedExForum will be sold out if the zombie was getting the team to the sweet sixteen.

Josh could do better than Andy Kennedy and can get a much better position. Kennedy is stuck because other ADs don’t see what you see in him. If they did he would be gone.
I definitely don’t want him here because the only way he’s going is down. Plus I like McDonald AAs and 5 star recruits which Kennedy seems allergic to. Or are they allergic to him?
Anyhow, Kennedy is where he needs to be and that’s stuck in a low-level program with luke warm fans.

Thank God, somebody with some sense. Thomas couldn't score in HS. Crawford has been the same way since he stepped on campus. Hotter than hell one night and then goes three or four games and cannot hit the floor. JJis not scoring like he did in HS, but he has impr oved in all other aspects. Black has gotten better each year. One thing that would help, if Mphs would get some quality HS coaches. There are no Vertie Sales, Dorsey Sims, Joe Branch etc. around here anymore.

Memphis just got out of the NCAA jail house and now some are talking about hiring a dirty coach coming off of suspension. Stupid.

Bowen is full of ****. He is totally just acting like a little b**** right now by under cutting Pastner. Even if what he says is the truth (which is total BS), the slap in the face to Pastner and the timing of the whole deal was absolutely low class and dumb.

Yep Jerry the KING Lawler. May not win many games but FEF would be packed to the rafters all season.
