What is he, Cal's cousin or best friend growing up or something? I'm not familiar with his contract but I know it's healthy. I bet my friends here in Tucson that Memphis would be waaaaaay better than Zona was last year (before the season started) just based on how awful Zona was the year before. It took 2 years for him to make Zona look like a national powerhouse again. IF he interviews, he's getting a raise from Arizona. Personal opinion, of course

Cal=NC St......Miller=Maryland

Jeff Goodman, who broke the story, just tweeted:

"This Maryland opening is ultra-attractive - even more so in the post-Debbie Yow Era. Just about everyone will listen if contacted."

Add Dave Telep to the list of those who think Miller along with Jamie Dixon and Jay Wright.

Jamie Dixon to Maryland would be a domino that Tigers fans would also not want to see fall.

no idea if Maryland is attractive or not, but I've seen 4 national writers say it is. Have to say they might know a tad more than us.

Arizona right now is probably a little better than Maryland.

But Maryland is a big time job.

They go back further than Gary Williams. It took them a while to overcome Len Bias' death but during that time, during the 1970s and especially the early 2000s they were good as well.

They have as many titles as Arizona.

Sean Miller bout to make Arizona break the bank. Are there archived threads about when Cal was contacted by the numerous schools before leaving for UK?

I was thinking the same thing.
Arizona will fall a bit with their star player going into the NBA draft....but they are 'back on the scene' on the national stage, and their recruiting should pick up as a result.
With Maryland...you're talking a rebuilding job period.

One day we have to face the fact that Josh may leave us for another program.
We can only hope that he starts having the type of mega-success to the point that it would be career suicide to leave for anyone but Duke, UNC, Kansas or UK.

Wow, are we seriously going to do this every time a job opens up? Folks, Josh turned down three gigs already this spring.

RE: Potentially Tiger Related: Gary Williams Retiring
I remember hearing a Josh Pastner interview that he gave to an Arizona radio station just after Cal accepted the UK job. Arizona was looking for a coach at the time, so the question naturally came up whether Josh would ever take the job if offered. He said he would crawl back home to Tucson to accept the job if it was ever offered. He didn't even try to hide his enthusiasm.

Make no mistake about it. Arizona is Josh's dream job. If offered the job, he'll seriously consider it at the very least.

The negligible difference between Maryland and Arizona (both great jobs) and the strides Sean Miller has made in Tucson make me wonder why this would really happen, honestly.
