Coach Williams will be missed. I've always liked him and respected his coaching ability.

The bigger news is Gus Johnson not being retained by CBS...March Madness just lost its voice.

Make no mistake about it. Arizona is Josh's dream job. If offered the job, he'll seriously consider it at the very least.

Sounds like he was campaigning for a head job. Don't think he doesn't have some loyalty to Memphis now. We gave him a chance, y'all didn't.

I'm not going bend over backwards trying to get you to believe me. But I'm an Arizona fan. I read the premium Arizona boards. I read posts from insiders who still talk to Lute Olson. And believe me when I say that Lute and Josh are still very close. I'll just leave it at that.

I'm not trying to put down Memphis at all. But Tucson is HOME for Josh. UA is his Alma mater. It's where he was part of a National Chamionship. And he still has very strong feelings about the program.

The good new for you is that there are still a lot of folks close to the UA program who don't think Pastner has proven much yet. Other than recruiting of course. But recruiting is only half the battle.

Believe what you want I guess.

Miller isn't leaving Zona for Maryland. Maryland is not a top 5 job. That is complete garbage. Parrish is good, but this opinion is total crap. If Miller leaves, I still seriously doubt Josh goes to Arizona. Thats just a hunch, but for some crazy reason I actually believe Josh when he says he isn't going anywhere. He has never given anyone any reason to ever NOT believe him. EVER....

The Graybushes in Tucson will not be happy with a young coach such as Pastner. Give him some time and success in Memphis and it becomes more of a possibility.

come on guys, put you're BS filters on

Ohhhhh, so Josh is going to kiss UA's butt but they aren't sure HE'S good enough for THEM....got it.

Here's the deal, chief. Josh had one of the youngest teams in NCAA basketball this season. Two bad calls get reversed and we play Texas while Sean Miller and Co go home.

Josh is very happy here. I don't expect he'll stay forever, but we just gave him 1.7 million per for just making the NCAA tourney. He KNOWS he has it good here. He has better facilities, better fan support, and is in the middle of a recruiting hotbed.

First of all, let me just say I have no idea whether or when Pastener will leave Memphis. None of us do. And to be honest, I'm not really worried this go round. But all the folks here saying that Pastner ain't goin anywhere and then list all the reasons....just insert Cal's name there instead and it would all be a repeat of April, 2009.

great facilities
great fan support
top recruiting class coming in
signed a fat contract
yada, yada, yada...

At this point I'm far more interested in what the h*ll this storm is all about in that other thread.

Just sayin...

I hope the the LA Clippers don't fire Vinny Del Negro. Josh applied to coach the Clippers when he was a college sophomore. The Clippers are his real dream job.

Heh, two differences. 1: the recruits we have now don't have out clauses. 2: Josh isn't running away from an investigation.

Sean Miller to Arizona??? I highly doubt it...

The only job Sean Miller will ever take is Pittsburgh, his alma mater...

The scuttlebutt just after our season ended was that NC State offered CJP just north of $2.5 mil and he turned it down for $1.7 mil here. That showed a lot of sense and character on his part. He's got a returning roster/recruiting class that even 'Da Rat would mortgage his soul for, worth about 5 times what Arizona's got going. AND...... I still say that Arizona flat out burned their bridges with Josh after all he did for that team/school and then they snubbed him for the lead assistant job there. Anybody that thinks for one minute Josh would bolt for AZ if Miller leaves is in dire need of a Xanax prescription. Josh "Bleeds Blue", he said it and I believe it.

I'd prefer to remember what Cal said about not leaving.

Pastner isn't going anywhere, at least for the short term.

I respect the sh!t out of Gary Williams. I've been around long enough to see him coach a lot. Yea, he appears hard headed and abrasive at times. But the guy just got it done.

I believe he's still the only coach to win the NCAA tournament without having a single McD AA on the roster.
