Mine was $2.94, IIRC.
I thought trump said gas was $2?
I can only assume you all live in the mid-south and/or close to Oklahoma.
It actually got down to $1.70 here, in November of his last year in office, the first time around. Before Biden blew it up to $5.
Yeah, Biden has next to nothing to do with that...but...you do you.

I'm betting on them having an exponentially higher economic pain tolerance than you think they do. I also think you way overestimate the resilience of the world economy to much more of this. Now maybe you just don't care if the entire world economy collapses, maybe you are so removed from it that you think you wouldn't be impacted so your tolerance for others pain is exponentially high.

You don't have to just disagree. You can actually cite some documented reasons as to why you blame Biden for the high cost.
Meanwhile, I have documented countless times how a good deal of that was caused by trump, coupled with things neither US president really could control.
1. OPEC 2020 deal signed by trump, the biggest driver of the high prices.
2. Global inflation due to Covid shutdowns...and not just here in the US.
3. Russia invading Ukraine.
You can't just look at it from terms of who is in office when the price peaks. You have to look at the factors that brought it about. And with O&G, those things don't always happen as quickly as this increase has...which was caused almost exclusively by trump attacking Iran.

I honestly don't really know what he was thinking. Likely because he thought oil demand would be low during the pandemic...which it was...but he was saying publicly that he thought it would be over by Easter. So if he truly thought it would be over by Easter, why did he sign a 2-year deal?
Perhaps he thought if they cut production that the US oil industry would produce and sell more. But the problem with that was his actions a couple years prior to Covid that caused lots of bankruptcies in US oil companies (no, not the behemoth ones, the small ones). When he first came into office, he begged OPEC to increase production because he wanted to make good on his belief that gas prices should be well under $2 per gallon. But the US Oil industry doesn't make much when gas is so cheap. So OPEC flooded the marked and rig count fell, employment in the oil fields plummeted, and investment went away and could not really recover in time to produce more to make up for the OPEC cuts when COVID went away and things opened back up. Again, it normally takes years for oil to go from discovery to refineries.

Boy you just don't understand.
Trump's deal with OPEC ended in 2022. Biden didn't or couldn't renegotiate it. He even went to the Saudis and they laughed at him because of his incompetence.
But keep screaming Trump like the inbred mouth breather you are cat boy.

Well, yeah it's pretty simple to just say the IRA, but some specifics would be nice. Where specifically did the IRA cause gas prices to spike to over $5 a gallon? There would have to be some massive things in there to cause that much of a jump.
And name some of the other policy changes please.

Still don't care if the end result is elimination of Iranian threat.
If Trump fails, I will not be happy about all of this, if he wins, this is the cost of doing that business.

Did you forget Russia's part in this. Also it looks like your time line is a little mixed up.
I've mentioned Russia many times before in talking about their Ukraine invasion leading to elevated gas prices, but you only asked me about the OPEC 2020 deal and why trump signed it. I don't recall Russia playing much of a roll in this other than them being a member of OPEC. But this deal was a win for OPEC. The completely bamboozled trump here...so I'm sure Russia and the other OPEC leaders laughed vociferously when trump actually agreed to this horrific deal.
And you're going to have to be a tad more specific on what you think is mixed up with the timeline. Keeping in mind that again, changes in the O&G industry often take over a year to materialize into changing the price of gas.

Yeah, Biden has next to nothing to do with that...but...you do you.
I disagree. But either way, it happened on Biden's watch. If it happened on Trump's watch, well, we all know what you would say then...
Boy you just don't understand.
Trump's deal with OPEC ended in 2022. Biden didn't or couldn't renegotiate it. He even went to the Saudis and they laughed at him because of his incompetence.
But keep screaming Trump like the inbred mouth breather you are cat boy.
Fuckstick, how many times do I have to tell you that yes, Biden failed in getting OPEC to cancel the horrible deal that trump signed? None of that changes the FACT that trump signed the deal, and it ****** us.
So sure, you and I can both blame Biden for not being able to get OPEC to cancel the deal. So how does any of that absolve trump from signing the idiotic deal to begin with? A deal, again, that was the driving force behind our gas hitting $5 in 2022 at the end of the 2-year deal.
Hint, it doesn't.
Damn, you're ignorant.
And clearly, you even know you've lost this argument...again...by stooping to more lame and ignorant insults.

That deal reduced output to 6 million b/d from January 2021-April 2022 when it ended. You know what the actual decrease was? You guessed it. Nothing. This information is pretty easy to find. OPEC was producing then what they have been the 4 years aftewards.

If Trump fails, I will not be happy about all of this, if he wins, this is the cost of doing that business.
Short of nuking their whole country and completely taking it over, when could you ever say with any degree of certainty that Iran would NEVER be a threat ever again? You know damned well that as long as they exist, Bibi (and therefore trump and his minions) will rant until his last dying breath that they are close to a bomb. He's been doing it for decades.
