Gas is up $1.03/gal ($2.46 ->$3.49) where I get gas. That's about $23 a fill up for me. Not a big deal. I have filled up once since the prices went up. I eat lunch for more than that some days. I was paying over $4.59/gal when Biden was POTUS and no one can tell me why. I was told it was the "Putin Price Hike".

the cut in production by OPEC was to keep pricing at current levels vs. tipping below 40/bbl and US job security...

So when global covid restrictions ended and the demand for oil skyrocketed, the supply was not there and the price of gas soared. Other trump actions also exasperated this due to low rig counts and US oil company bankruptcies his actions caused.

And as a reminder, what I have said in the past and will continue to say since it's true, the normal actions of presidents don't cause any real change in gas prices. It's a globally priced commodity.

So yeah,

Releasing huge amounts of oil from the SPR...
Starting wars...
Slapping on huge tariffs...
Signing bad oil deals...
Signing huge stimulus bills that lead to inflation...

These things will cause gas prices to change.

Trump's "OPEC Deal" cut production 10% through June 2020. The question you need to ask yourself is why oil production didn't increase to "pre-Covid" levels two years into the Biden Presidency? The answer isn't Trump.
