This has all led to something called No Snitch November, where Americans are encouraged to turn a blind eye to any stealing, looting, or violence they see going on in stores because that's apparently how leftists think you show sympathy? Perhaps this movement should instead be called Any Reason to Riot.

I first noticed talk of an impending SNAP-related crime wave when a Washington, D.C.-based crime reporter warned that "next week could be hell for retailers" if the benefits don't show up on time. The account linked to a video of a man encouraging recipients to go to their local grocery store, such as Publix or Walmart, and "steal all their s**t."

There is now an entire X account dedicated to tracking all the threats being made to ransack businesses and fight anyone who tries to stop the mayhem. We'll give you a taste, but be forewarned that there's plenty of salty, NSFW language used by the "hungry" hordes.

Dmitri Bolt from our sister site Townhall tracked down some additional threats being made.

“I’ma tell y’all straight up like this, I just got that text that the link is definitely cut the f**k off for November. Y’all better stay the f**k out of my way in these stores because I’m walking out with carts and I’m not paying for s**t,” one SNAP recipient raged.

Another said, “You know what? Since they wanna take food stamps away, I’m gonna go to f**king Walmart, grab anything I damn want, put that s**t right in the basket and walk right up out that b**h … I’m not paying for a damn thing.”

As an aside – and an important one at that – the reason October SNAP benefits were issued on the first of the month, despite the government shutdown starting at midnight on September 30, is because the Trump administration redirected $300 million in unspent tariff revenue to help fund the program. Had this factoid actually been reported by the media, maybe we would have seen these same people taking to social media to thank the Trump administration? I kid, I kid.

Some states have taken measures to ensure its residents who rely on food stamps aren't left with empty refrigerators and bare pantries. Here in Virginia, Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin has declared a state of emergency and announced the creation of the Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance (VENA) initiative to dispense food assistance in seven-day increments. Additionally, $1 million in state funds will be provided to food banks in order to help counter the loss of SNAP benefits. For the record, both of Virginia's Democrat senators, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, have repeatedly voted to keep the government shut down.

(Incidentally, RedState's Bob Hoge did a nice rundown of the fallout from Day 29 of the shutdown, including the fact that the Congressional Budget Office is now saying that fourth quarter real gross domestic product, or GDP, numbers will be lower than expected thank to Senate Democrats. A person on SNAP threatens to "not pay for anything" from a store.......so no change from their perspective.

two little black kids on their way to school walk up to the counter at the quickie pickie - each with ~20.00 of soft drinks and crap in a bag ... I'm laughing my arse off when I get to the counter ... ol' ali babi bob behind told me what the balance was on their cards - ~700.00 smackers apiece ... we shook our head in unison as I blurted, "knew it" ... it's disgusting how SNAP is being abused...

when it was first implemented, there were only certain items one could purchase ... not today, boys...

there's a person who worked most of their life and living off SS of $1200 to $1800 (couple) that depends on the $220 to $153 a month in SNAP to eat, at some point during the month. I see and deal with a lot of those people. Even took a lot to the store and helped them shop....

I've yet to see a balance pop up, other than on the bottom of their receipt. When asked to check the balance, I have to use glasses because its in tiny letter/numbers. I dont believe the person behind the counter see's it either but not sure because I always take them through self checkout

I'm jaded from my time, many years ago, working in a grocery store and watching many, many people pull up to the check out with two grocery carts, one full of food related items that they used food stamps for and the second full of beer and other nonfood products that they paid cash for. This happened every month, for the entire time I worked there.

who hands them the receipt … he had no reason to lie … I didn’t ask … he knew why I was laughing and volunteered the info…

In the early 80s I worked as a sacker at a local grocery store.

I remember a woman coming up to the registers with TWO grocery carts FULL of food. I mean overflowing.

The checker is ringing up each item and I'm bagging them. Finally we get through both baskets and the bill was over $200 (in the 80s that was a lot).


Then she pulls out these...





That very moment is when I got my education about government hand-outs. That woman had groceries that my family couldn't even afford. My dad at the time was a bank branch manager and my mom was a nurse.

And this woman getting government hand-outs was eating better than I could've ever imagined.

Of course, from that point on I knew exactly what was going on when I saw those food coupons get handed over.


I also remember the time, years later, I was standing behind a woman in the checkout line and she whipped out this...



I thought the design was cool -- patriotic -- so I looked closer at it and realized it's and EBT card... the new version of the old food stamp coupons. I guess they went with newer technology, but it also serves as a way to remove the stigma of paying with fake money.

The "pastors" in town used to load up the church bus with folks on stamps that had no cars. It would cost them some stamp money to get on that bus. Black 'pastors' don't do nothing for free. The 'pastor' always ate good.

I believe our greatest President in the last 50 years used the term “welfare queen” to describe these leeches

Great point. I've also seen a lot of conservatives/libertarians on this sub argue that there should be zero restrictions on what a SNAP recipient can buy because...liberty. Of course I took the contrarian position - if someone is paying your bills then that person (or entity) should have a say on what you're doing with the money.
