None of what you just said was an attack on the first amendment.
Intimidation of the press, constantly attacking the press, limiting access of the press for asking questions you don’t like, etc are all tactics designed to control the press and limit free speech.
Do we truly have a free press if an editor has to go “we can’t run that story, or they will take away our access to the White House” or “we can’t ask that question, they will ban us from the pentagon press pool”.
Freedom of the press is a sign of a health democracy and our current administration seems to pride themselves on attacking and limiting press that they perceive as not “being on their side”. It is absolutely an attack on the first amendment, Trump banned the AP from the briefing room for not going along with his dumb “Gulf of America” stuff and a federal court had to restore their access on 1st amendment grounds.

Ask better questions that weren't addressed during the briefing. I listened love and she asked exactly what he had just spoke about.

Publishing classified materials is definitely an issue, however. All of these news organizations find unscrupulous ways to get stories and publish them. I don't think we've ever had leaks like we've had the last decade. Something does need to be done to stop the leaks before they start getting people killed.

She had the best and most accurate story about the whole mission. She probably should be given some leeway. Just because he doesn't appreciate the question doesn't mean he should be an a-hole about it.

The Dem’s focus on the minuscule (eg “guys”) instead of discussing aspects of a spectacular success with the bombing and ceasefire demonstrates their one track agenda.

This is ridiculous. Nobody is focusing on anything. The initial assessment was leaked to the press, so it naturally became a topic to discuss.
And if you want to blame anyone, blame amateur drunk Pete and clueless trump. All they had to do was either not comment or rightly state that this was a first assessment and that they are often wrong and/or lacking detail...and then say they will brief the press and congress when they know more.
And that brings up another issue...why didn't they brief Congress to begin with?
But they chose instead to attack the press for reporting information they were given by the Pentagon.

Where were you when the press was refused access to the Biden routinely where normally the president would take questions immediately after a newsworthy event occurred that he/she was part of? Where were you when it was shown that the press were required to submit questions in advance that the WH would screen first and then pick and choose which questions they would answer per a script because Biden couldn't handle normal press conferences? Where were you when the press intentionally covered up reporting news about Biden's cognitive decline and actually attacking writers who reported the truth about Joe Biden and his senility? Where were you when the press told us that the Hunter Biden laptop stories were a hoax that was "likely" started by Russian agents? Where were you when we heard about the Russian election interference hoax that ended up being planted info from Hilary Clinton's campaign?
Regarding access to a press briefing room - are you saying that reporters DO NOT WRITE stories unless their question was answered specifically? From my understanding there was no rule that prevented any news outlet from writing a story or reporting on what the president said regardless of whether a news outlet had a body in the room with the president or not. The constitution had freedom of the press to do it's job before the first press conference ever happened: https://www.whitehousehistory.org/press-...s-timeline
I don't believe that Trump and his administration were the first people to criticize the press. Also, what I don't see happening is Pete Hegseth, Trump or anyone else from the administration calling for reporters to be taken out of the briefing rooms in handcuffs and jailed over a question. I also don't see media sites being shut down because they report stories that the government does not like.

lol Tom decides to take the leaker's word over American intelligence agencies as well as the Iranians, the Israelis, and even the United Nations. You really can't make this crap up.
Oh, and Tom, Trump notified congressional leadership. It ain't his fault that the head Democrat in the House didn't pick up the phone when he initially called.

You're clueless. The leaker WAS THE ******* PENTAGON!
And no, trump never held a briefing with Congress after the attack. That's what I was talking about.
Quote:WASHINGTON (AP) — The trump administration on Tuesday postponed classified briefings for Senate and House members as lawmakers are looking for more answers about President donald trump’s directed strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend and his announcement on Monday that the two countries had reached a ceasefire agreement.

SOME of the press were - most were not. The major networks, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WAPO, etc had anchors, reporters and journalists tell us Biden was "sharp as a tack" and that there were "cheap fakes" going around making Biden look bad...

Huh? What flippin multiverse are you on?
This guy is about to be the first in my 16 years to go on ignore. After four years of gaslighting the American people by the previous regime (and I have lots of first hand receipts) I don't subscribe to more of it here.

You sleep though the entire “banning the AP from the whitehouse for not bowing down to his gulf of America stupidity”? That is absolutely an attack on the free press.

Wait...at the rate things are going...it may not be long...
And puhleeze...the press was merciless in reporting on Biden's struggles. Where are you when they continually give trump a pass on his?
SOME of the press were - most were not. The major networks, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WAPO, etc had anchors, reporters and journalists tell us Biden was "sharp as a tack" and that there were "cheap fakes" going around making Biden look bad...
Your memory sucks ass. And there's a VAST difference in those places having Biden surrogates on who were making those claims and on air folks saying he was.

Wrong. Plus the press dutifully read their scripted questions for Biden to answer - preselected by the WH of course - on those rare occasions Biden interacted with the press.
