RE: New Realignment Thread
Sadly I have said for a long time that we are headed to DIII.
Here has been my prediction for a while-4 16 team conferences each with 2 divisions, then a 8 team playoff with the winner of the conference playoff receiving a bye, then 4 wild cards. Jan 1-first round, saturday before the NFL conference finals-2 semifinals, saturday before super bowl-championship game. Giant money.
Regular season is 7 division, 4 cross division, 2 non-conference.
Here are the conferences:
ACC-now has 14, adds WVU, ND
Big "10"-now has now has 14, adds Kansas, K State
SEC-now has 14, adds OK, OK ST
PAC 12-now has 12 adds Texas and 3 of Tech, BYU, Iowa St, Baylor, TCU, AFA, Col St, SD St.
So maybe U Conn goes to ACC and ND goes to Big "10"
Maybe Iowa St goes to Big 10.
But at the end of the day it is all about MONEY. And the PAC will overcome their objections, I mean they agreed to the AZ schools.
Why in the world would the SEC want to deal with Texas and their arrogance? They have ruled the roost for 110 years and will be responsible for the destruction of 3 conferences (SWC, Big 8, and WAC, indirectly) PAC seeing the tealeaves will accept Texas. Hope all the teasips enjoy those westcoast gametimes
