I think we can all agree with that now. I was just laying out the whole Keelon debacle that Josh started - not Rudd, not Bowen, not Tubby, and certainly not Penny.

Bottom line: when you can’t trust your AD (and I’m being nice here) the program suffers-more to come with Bowen. He PROMISED Tubby a bench job and despite what happened after that, Tubby should have been forced to honor that promise.

I totally disagree with this part. However, Tubby should have been made aware of what the UM wanted to do with Keelon and then he (Tubby) could make a decision to come or not.

That didn’t happen. So, the promise still stands. Bowen looks like an idiot to most of the basketball program and some players lost respect for Tubby.

I agree, "the promise" should stand. My point is if Tubby was unaware of the promise then shame on Bowen. If Tubby did know, then shame on Tubby.

I'm not naive enough to think Tubby was not aware of the situation and he certainly should have cleared any questions he had about the program if he wasn't sure.

Let's see how smart we would have been. UM hires a high school BB coach who has two son's on the team. most would say two of the best. If an incoming coach knows anything about recruiting and the Memphis job they would know that the father-coach has two more highly regarded sons coming up. No coach envisions giving up coaching for a front office job or will tolerate being disrespected publicly.

Tubby chose his own son for a job he was completely unqualified to do. Keelon was a more qualified coach and he had four assets in his sons that lived and breathed Memphis the same as Keelon and mom breathed Memphis. Keelon had his own issues and coaching changes make things awkward but from all accounts Tubby didn't even try to work things out.

You don't have to be smart to know the score here but you do have to be alarmingly arrogant, don't care about consequences, or lacking in intelligence not to see what would happen and what the loss would be. You choose which or a combination of all three.

I keep playing the sucker thinking there is new info about NCAA penalties but continue to find nothing but Tubby complaints.

Mods can we get these folks a thread for all things Tubby & stoo this nonsense?

On this day in 1958, an earthquake followed by a landslide in Alaska’s Lituya Bay generated a wave 100 feet high, the tallest tsunami ever documented.

I'm glad it went down the way it did.
We don't have Levar Ball jr and his distracting kids holding our hoops hostage.
