(11-20 last saturday) He has a career 25 td to 22 int rate. Christian Alexander had a 58% completion rate on 6.4 ypa last year 4TD to 0 Int. Neither QB is particularly good. Morgan has the most potential at that position, however, he was benched last year and may get benched again this year.
Jones is the X factor at RB, but they have a lot of depth here. Very good running backs.
CJ Worton is not a better player than the Liberty guy, have no idea where that would come from. He's a decent slot WR type player, not an NFL caliber athlete outside WR. They lost their best WR in Owens, but they have some depth at the position. A lot of the guys are younger.
They return all 5 starters to a fairly bad OL last year. However, that could be a strong unit with the experience and a JUCO.
The DL is probably their best unit. It could be as good as ours.
They are weak at LB, lost almost everything.
They have a terrible secondary. It was possibly the worst secondary in the country last year and still lost all 4 starters.
FIU ran the ball well vs. Indiana. They allowed Indiana to dink and dunk their way down the field and averaged 4.7 yards per rush. Indiana is a decent team (maybe 60ish) so I'm surprised FIU hung with them to the degree they did. On offense, we probably are not going to run the ball great so we do need Williams to throw well. Their run defense will probably be an upgrade over Liberty and their pass defense is probably a step down. On defense, we have to stop the run without having to put 8 in the box. FIU is not a very strong offense and they won't move the ball as quickly as Liberty did. They are more of a strong running game with a dink and dunk passing game. If we slow down the run game for FIU and not turn the ball over, we will likely win.
Well lets see. Here is where that came from.
Worton was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and the No. 57-ranked receiver in the Class of 2014, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.
He signed with Florida
He had P5
offers from Florida, FL State, West Virginia.
As for Liberty:
If you are talking about LU's DJ Stubbs, Wortonis bigger, and according to stats , stronger, and faster than Stubbs
Stubbs had NO P5 offers
I would submit that you cannot possibly say categorically that Stubbs is better, if for no other reason than his stats are built on FCS Big South Competition.
Indeed at 5'9" he is likely too small for the NFL
If you are talking about the more heralded Gandy-Golden well he didn't impress against us. His best offer was from Elon.
Worton looked pretty good against Big X Indiana, while Stubbs and Gandy-Golden have heretofore made their reps in a mediocre FCS conference. Further, Worton's performance Saturday was that much more impressive, by you standards because he has a much inferior QB to work with.
Where does you analysis come from?
EDIT: If FIU's D'Vonte Price gets a lot of touches it could be a long day as he has power, speed, and run the edge. not our strength on D.
