Kesean Strong and Matt Geiger only ones listed as injured. Wonder if Davila and Jelani Carter will actually play. They were sorely missed.

Anyone have any previous luck with free streams of BeIN? I use PS Vue and they don't have it. I can always sign up for sling for a free week, but I may have dipped into that well too many times. I've use reddit for both baseball and NFL games with pretty good success, but I've never tried with that channel or college football in general.

Check out Fubo TV. I think they have BeIN Sports and they also have a 7 day free trial.

Over the summer he lost it (confidence?, overthinking?, pushing to hard?) and has regressed more since Fall practice started. (Losing confidence can lead to a downward spiral that is hard to reverse.) LaRussa is competent and a good kid but still short (sorry but it is true - did you see his pass knocked down by a lineman Sat.?) and not fast enough. Believe it or not I am told the kid from Roanoke is the one looking hot in practice currently. I was also told today that SW clearly looks the best in practice. That said, I have been around football enough to know that great practice players who cannot produce in a game do exist. I would expect that very thought is being evaluated by our coaches. Hopefully, he just had a bad game and it is behind him.
Just out of curiosity, when SW looks good in practice, is it against our 1st or 2nd team defense? I didn't know if we went with 1st stringers against 1st stringers or if they went against 2nd string teams acting as the scout team. Then again that might not matter as we have a hard time covering anybody playing man coverage.

Did not ask that question (wish I had thought of it) and do not know the answer. Generally when they decide to dump a little info my way I just listen and say thanks.

Typically, teams do not do 1st vs. 1st. I have heard that "It causes a greater chance for injury, with both starting units on the field at the same time." For weeks that follow bad losses like this weekend...I am sure there have been some 1st Vs. 1st moments.

RE: Game 2: FIU vs ODU
After further review, this game should answer many questions about our defense.

FIU runs a Pro Set
FIU has two good QBs in Morgan and Alexander. Current starter James Morgan is a transfer with a lot of potential who should get better each week.
FIU has at least as good a receiver group, and a better stud, CJ Worton, than LU.
FIU has a solid RB in Anthony Jones, but I expect to see Sophomore D'Vonte Price as their biggest threat going forward.
FIU has an experienced OL.

Bottom line, the FIU offense has a very similar look to hat of LU, but stronger
except at quarterback. However, there likely won't be enough of a dropoff at QB to make a huge difference.

Alum, are you updating your signature? Just wondering if that should say Sec. 102, 10 years running.

Hopefully, our team won't be lazy this week. I feel like they said **** it at the Liberty game.

RE: Game 2: FIU vs ODU
So James Morgan is a former star Bowling Green recruit. However, he completed just 56% on 6.4 ypa in 2016 and 45% on 5.9 ypa in 2017. (11-20 last saturday) He has a career 25 td to 22 int rate. Christian Alexander had a 58% completion rate on 6.4 ypa last year 4TD to 0 Int. Neither QB is particularly good. Morgan has the most potential at that position, however, he was benched last year and may get benched again this year.

Jones is the X factor at RB, but they have a lot of depth here. Very good running backs.

CJ Worton is not a better player than the Liberty guy, have no idea where that would come from. He's a decent slot WR type player, not an NFL caliber athlete outside WR. They lost their best WR in Owens, but they have some depth at the position. A lot of the guys are younger.

They return all 5 starters to a fairly bad OL last year. However, that could be a strong unit with the experience and a JUCO.

The DL is probably their best unit. It could be as good as ours.

They are weak at LB, lost almost everything.

They have a terrible secondary. It was possibly the worst secondary in the country last year and still lost all 4 starters.

FIU ran the ball well vs. Indiana. They allowed Indiana to dink and dunk their way down the field and averaged 4.7 yards per rush. Indiana is a decent team (maybe 60ish) so I'm surprised FIU hung with them to the degree they did. On offense, we probably are not going to run the ball great so we do need Williams to throw well. Their run defense will probably be an upgrade over Liberty and their pass defense is probably a step down. On defense, we have to stop the run without having to put 8 in the box. FIU is not a very strong offense and they won't move the ball as quickly as Liberty did. They are more of a strong running game with a dink and dunk passing game. If we slow down the run game for FIU and not turn the ball over, we will likely win.

Well lets see. Here is where that came from.
Worton was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and the No. 57-ranked receiver in the Class of 2014, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.
He signed with Florida
He had P5 offers from Florida, FL State, West Virginia.

As for Liberty:
If you are talking about LU's DJ Stubbs, Wortonis bigger, and according to stats , stronger, and faster than Stubbs
Stubbs had NO P5 offers
I would submit that you cannot possibly say categorically that Stubbs is better, if for no other reason than his stats are built on FCS Big South Competition.
Indeed at 5'9" he is likely too small for the NFL

If you are talking about the more heralded Gandy-Golden well he didn't impress against us. His best offer was from Elon.

Worton looked pretty good against Big X Indiana, while Stubbs and Gandy-Golden have heretofore made their reps in a mediocre FCS conference. Further, Worton's performance Saturday was that much more impressive, by you standards because he has a much inferior QB to work with.
Where does you analysis come from?

04-cheers

EDIT: If FIU's D'Vonte Price gets a lot of touches it could be a long day as he has power, speed, and run the edge. not our strength on D.

He's a 6-4 220 WR that started football late in his career and got injured in high school. Recruiting rankings mean almost nothing, but that is the reason why he didn't have offers.

AGG had 6 catches for 55 yards, 3 touchdowns, and drew 3-4 penalties against us...........How was that not impressive? Worton had 5 catches for 69 yards and no tds. AGG also had 13 catches for 192 yards and 2 tds vs. Baylor last year. He's probably going to get drafted, if not will have a long look in training camp.

Im not sure why you would bring recruiting rankings up to justify another player is better.

I didn't intend to use rankings, although the P5s have had pretty good success with them. I responded to your snide comment "I don't know where that came from"
My intent was to compare offers. While there are always diamonds in the rough and abject failures, three major P5 programs thought enough of Worton to offer him. Big name P5s pay coaches a lot of money to successfully analyze talent, and they are pretty good at it
Further, you assessment of Gandy-Golden is completely subjective, based on FCS stats and as of yet, no NFL draft profile.
Additionally, Golden's 6 catches for 55 yds against possible swiss cheese (ODU) is NOT as good as Wortons 5 catches for 69 yds against a Big X defense.

My assessment is purely opinion, but based on some pertinent data.

04-cheers
