LOL. Exactly my reaction. All the eastern European countries were part of the USSR for decades. Not our battle.

And yet it is Ronald Reagan’s crowning glory. Now those that I’m sure loved Reagan don’t care about what he did. You are fine with going back to the same old Cold War. The Russians rattling the nuclear threat at the west and a bunch of pearl clutching going on in the halls of our government. You so called ‘conservatives’ don’t care. Sad. Siding with the local Putin ass kisser who never has a good thing to say about America while all the time reeeeng liberals hate America. There is some big disconnect in the conservative ranks.

And now we have another real enemy bent on destruction of the west. And they are paying very close attention to exactly how much America cares. We are failing miserably and yet many on the right are happy to not care.

Trump, despite all the good he has done, distilles every foreign policy decision down to ‘making a deal’. You can’t make deals with Islamist. And neither can one make deals with megalomaniacs. It amazes me Trump seems to not understand that very simple fact.

And the debt. It is headed down the road that always saves nations from insurmountable debt. War. We are closer than we’ve been in my lifetime. The Islamic world is on fire. Russia is non salvageable. China is ready to take advantage. We will emerge from this simply because we love freedom and just as the Japanese became to understand, when we wake up we are the only superpower. But, because of the lack of caring now, the loss of life soon to come will be unimaginable.

4 years of taking victory laps, and trying to sell the American people on how important Ukraine is up in smoke, just like most of our regime change flops.

And NATO is weaker, more fractured, broker, and less equipped than when it all began.

And when we abandon Ukraine, everyone will see how the US flaked out yet again. Good thing trust and credibility aren’t important…

Who is going to want to fight our next war for us?

Ukraine bros really having their world shattered

So when will the Russian juggernaut roll into Kiev as you told us they would? You keep telling us all how right you are. Your bedfellow Todor even took off for a year when the truth became evident. You, much like Ofer just double down.

Good grief dude, nothing like pigeon holing maybe 40% of the country into one neat little description. None of that past the Russia-Ukraine deal even applies to me. Most of this stuff i just never think about. Hasn't affected me so far, and I'm 79. Lots of changes in that situation since then. Still no effect, lol.

While I am not supporting Russia, like I have said and will continue to say... If the USA were to implode like USSR did, as soon as the government got their feet back under them, they would start recollecting states.

The US is not an entity composed of different nation states. Georgia and Armenia are older than Russia. Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kygyzistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were overwhelmingly populated by Turkic ethnic groups. Kazakhstan was a slight majority Kazakh, but now is heavily Kazakh as the Kazakhs have a very high birth rate and hundreds of thousands of Russians have returned to Russia. Lithuania had a 1000 year history and had few Russians. Estonia and Latvia had substantial Russian minorities, but were still majority of a separate non-Slavic nationality. Moldova is really just a distinct part of Romania that Russia conquered. Only Belarus and Ukraine were even Slavic states.

They have (or had) a pretty significant capacity, a wide network of ABM launchers for the Samolets and radars esp. around Moscow. They continued to improve and invest since the Cold War, and it was good enough that the Norks wanted Russian radars and interceptors in exchange for those masses of shells and (temporarily) warm bodies.

Obviously, they've never been tested in combat. You'll recall that the early Patriot system seen in H.W. Bush's Gulf War wasn't much more than a very expensive fireworks display; those failures led to a very effective (but still terribly expensive) system for what it is (a terminal, not high-altitude, system). Much of the Russian system likewise dates from the Reagan years, and supposedly has been upgraded and improved with current tech.

That said, they've taken a lot of their ABMs out of their siloes and lobbed them into Ukrainian cities in the past few years.

The FP9 will definitely discomfit Vlad. I would not call it a war winning weapon.

With all due respect, my fellow native Texan, I have to correct you on something. Tucker Carlson isn't a real conservative. He's even disavowed Republicans and endorsed El-Sayed in the Michigan senate race.

I’d expect a shockingly lucrative ending for Russia, if an ending is to happen anytime soon.

You're right; he's only led the ending of several wars and brokered peace treaties while in office. He may have to end several more before you acknowledge it.

(10-21-2026 08:25 AM)bullet Wrote:  This is totally meaningless.

Ukraine was always willing. That doesn't mean you lay all your cards on the table publicly. Its Russia who is the barrier.

I'm amazed how you people swallow Putin's propaganda hook line and sinker. You're as bad as the TDS people.

I'm amazed that you support a regime that has soaked the American taxpayer for hundreds of billions of dollars-even though the statement below places the figure at less than 200 billion. When he pays it all back, I'll reconsider my position on the little dude.

We had no business becoming involved except to offer humanitarian aid. Ukraine isn't in NATO and we don't have an alliance with them.

"In a recent interview (October 2026), U.S. Vice President JD Vance explicitly stated that the U.S. does not have a "formal alliance" with Ukraine and that he "doesn't think they should be in NATO." He described the relationship as a partnership with "divergent interests," noting specific disagreements over Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy facilities".

The internet tells us that Trump was the one who started giving aid to Ukraine. And he did, but only after Obama had made promises and delivered "blankets" rather than meaningful aid.

"Ukraine did not receive significant direct U.S. financial aid during Donald Trump’s first term (2017–2021), as major aid packages were primarily enacted under the Biden administration following Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. However, the U.S. provided approximately $31.7 billion in military assistance to Ukraine through Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) between August 2021 and early 2025, a period that overlaps with the end of Trump’s first term and the start of his second.

Pre-2022 Context: Before the 2022 invasion, U.S. security assistance to Ukraine was limited, focusing on training, equipment, and counterterrorism support rather than large-scale financial transfers.
First Term Specifics: Trump’s first administration did not authorize the massive supplemental appropriations that characterized post-2022 aid. The bulk of the $174.2 billion in congressional aid was appropriated after the 2022 invasion, under President Biden.
Clarification: Figures often cited today (e.g., $183 billion appropriated or $119 billion allocated per the Kiel Institute) refer to the period since 2022, not Trump’s first term. Any claim of hundreds of billions in aid to Ukraine during 2017–2021 is inaccurate."

Ukraine has historically been led by extremely corrupt administrations, so...

And this is in no way an endorsement of Putin. He, like his counterpart, suffers from little man syndrome, and he has been brutal. I have no love for either him or Zelenskyy.

AFAIC we need to stay the hell out of other people's wars unless they are allied with us.

Most of this stuff i just never think about. Hasn't affected me so far, and I'm 79. Lots of changes in that situation since then. Still no effect, lol.

He's only talking about the Tucker Carlson conservatives who worship Sir Putin.

With all due respect, my fellow native Texan, I have to correct you on something. Tucker Carlson isn't a real conservative. He's even disavowed Republicans and endorsed El-Sayed in the Michigan senate race.

Carlson has lost his mind. I used to be a fan. These days, not so much.

Well he pretended to be one for a long time.

Then he copies Hanoi Jane and becomes Moscow Tucker.

You are buying Russian propaganda that somehow Ukraine is the barrier to end this conflict. Once their offensive failed in 2023, they knew they couldn't drive Russia completely out of their territory.

You don't share the belief, demonstrated by Putin's repeated actions in Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine and less successfully so far in Estonia, Latvia and Kazakhstan, to stir up minorities and justify Russian aggression. Leaders of his party have clearly stated their desire to reclaim the Baltics and connect with Kalingrad, in addition to Moldova and Georgia. They are intering in Hungarian, Slovakian and Polish politics. They want those countries to be their allies again. Its dangerous not to help Ukraine stop him now.
