It wasn't Trump who gave permission for Russia to start the war, so how can he be accused of "flaking out"? ....and we sure aren't going in to fight it either, so whose war is it?
The war is Ukraines war. We couped them, tried to sneak them into NATO, they got into a civil war when eastern parts wanted out, we kept supplying weapons for Ukraine to kill its Russian half, kept ignoring Russias warnings, so Russia got involved.
Now nobody in the West wants to pay for it any more or supply weapons because we don’t have the money or backend to fight a war that size. Now Ukraine knows it’s been had, and the world knows our trillion dollar military echos like a hollow barrel when challenged in any meaningful way.
During the Ukraine fiasco we let a dozen bases in the Middle East get wiped out because we couldn’t defend them and sent the soldiers to hide elsewhere. And we stopped bombing Iran because we don’t have the weapons to do the job.
Since you asked nicely…
I’m still waiting for the media to admit that we didn’t crater Russias economy like we claimed, that they can and do still produce weapons, that Russia is only selling one fifth the gas to Europe that they were before, but at five times the price, that the toughest sanctions we could dole out to Russia were more of an inconvenience than an effective hindrance, and the story that Russia was buying up all the worlds dishwashers to get a $2 chip out of them was as stupid sounding today as it was then.
Until we are honest about things like that, I’m not going to believe much of the spin about how one day Russia just decided it wanted Ukraine and attacked unprovoked and out of nowhere.
This trillion dollar disaster, like most, transcends the ineptitude of only one administration or one party.
