The MWC may have taken a hit on FB perfomance but still have 4 state flagships ( New Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada, Hawaii) vs 0 for SBC and soon to be 1 ( Delaware) and that does matter. I would much rather be in a conference with those 4 vs anything the SBC and and especially CUSA has to offer.

Yeah, Delaware would be such a great fit. Especially for student athletes getting that fly over experience multiple times each semester.

Delaware will have some great rivalries in the MW NOT.

MW needs to revisit this invite.

Delaware is not going to MWC you misunderstood. MWC has 4 State Flagships, SBC 0 and CUSA 1 ( DELAWARE) It was a comparison of conferences and schools that are in it and peception of which conference is more important not that Delaware is going to MWC.

Ok, my bad.

Unless UTEP is going to MW as well I decline if I’m Texas State

UTEP and TXST are a flight away. That prolly makes zero difference to the Bobcats. Anything on this side of the green belt would be more likely to move the needle.

RE: PAC12 Reforming
UTEP will probably announce MWC move by end of week. I am guessing Tx State will go to PAC and not MWC. NM St will not get invited to either. Those 3 things I am pretty confident in, after that, who knows? I heard GCU as a possible candidate for MWC as well as St Mary's for both PAC and MWC and Gonzaga PAC, but I have not seen any articles mention UTA to MWC. Dellenger mentioned Tarleton to MWC as a possibility. If either or both Tarleton/UTA leave the WAC might be beyond recovery unless the Dakota St schools leave and the WAC/Summit merge or eat the other.

Nobody wants us (UTA) . Personally I hope the WAC survives, I like the 7 schools that have not left yet. If the WAC dissolves I don't know if anybody will take us

Like you, I hope the WAC stays. We finally have good schools that are competitive and seem to be dedicated to doing things right.

I knew if UTEP goes MWC, Tarleton would get a hard look. For whatever reason UTEP and Tarleton (not nmsu) have been linked throughout.

RE: PAC12 Reforming
UTEP probably wants conference games "back east" in the state of Texas. Tarleton is as close as the Mountain West can get to DFW. Adding both Tarleton and Texas State would presumably have given them an away conference football game in-state each year.

This was a head-scratcher to me… until I was reminded of their recent baseball success. Oregon State definitely wants a decent Pac for baseball.
