Shooter and 3 children dead at Nashville school - hburg - 03-28-2023 10:03 AM

Mental illness is strong in these people. A domestic terrorist she was, yet celebrated by many on the left.

Because they're mentally ill by definition.

They keep harping on treating mental illness yet they can't recognize one when it is literally jumping out at them in its obviousness.
To be mentally ill:

They must be:
Christian
White
Male
Leans conservative

Bonus points if they supported Trump.

This is what will happen if the government decides. Mark it down.

Absolutely this 'trans' BS is simply mental illness and those supporting it and enabling it are at fault.

3 paragraphs expressing sympathy for the family and the entire rest of the letter making it all about themselves and their cult.

How has such a small minority gained such a loud voice?

Many of us, myself included, have given multiple options of things in a multitude of threads over the years that could be done to prevent these mass shootings. The ideas run the gamut, some include certain measures of gun reform, some include mental healthcare as an important part of healthcare in general.

ALL of these get shot down (no pun intended) in favor of keeping guns just as easily accessible as they currently are. Never mind the fact that Bill Lee's nonsensical open carry nonsense has just added fuel to the fire in this state with gun thefts and therefore additional crimes committed with stolen guns (not saying that applies in this instance).

The people who aren't willing to budge on gun reform would rather protect guns than protect kids. When nothing was done after Sandy Hook, sadly it was all over with.

I just had to stop right there. This is the thing with you high minded liberals. You've GIVEN us blahbety blah things that could be done to prevent blaabety blah.

What you've deigned to give us is an opinion, one which IMO is misinformed at best and reeks of an agenda at worst.

The rest isn't worth perusing when you come out of the gate like that.

So your delicate sensibilities are offended because I stated the fact that we've gone over this multiple times. Whatever, man.

If you want to call wanting to keep mass shootings from happening every other week when it doesn't happen literally anywhere else in the world with that frequency an "agenda," sure. Call it what you want.

My response was to the poster who kept asking "so what do you suggest we do," trying to imply that ideas have never been floated around here. They have been, over and over, but they just get ignored or brushed over in the name of politics.

I think you should be the first to actually go to someone's home and demand they turn over their guns.

That's the real "solution" they all want. Take away all the guns from 99.9% of all gun-owning law-abiding citizens.

Okay, if inanimate objects that are used to cause death and destruction are the real problem, then let's take away all motor vehicles and knives, while we're at it.

Even though, again, the overwhelming majority of the population uses those devices safely.

Why not focus on figuring out how to deal with the crazies instead? "Mental health counseling" isn't going to cut it, and in a free society, you can't (or shouldn't) lock up everybody who has a dangerous post or thought, so that leaves...

...tightened security in the most vulnerable areas, like schools, churches, sports arenas, shopping malls, etc. Duh...

Anybody heard about a plane hijacking lately?

The filth dont want a free society. They tell us every damn day.

Yeah, that's why I used the phrase...

Wait.. Doesn't fit the narrative.

Go back and quote where I said we should take weapons away from law abiding gun owners.

I’ll wait.

Go back to the 2A where it says shall be infringed...

I'm simply looking at real ways to stop the flow of guns to criminals.

Ohhhh, I get it now. Because all the criminals caught with illegal guns now ALWAYS end up off the streets forever and never again have an opportunity to obtain another illegal gun, whether it be a black market item whose origins cant reliably be traced or not. Right?

Remember, THIS is the Democrat Party's idea of how to treat their own Criminals...what is the message they send to their minions? Stop the Criminals, who are mostly Lefties, and you stop this from happening.

I haven't proposed anything that infringes on the second amendment. Nothing about a gun storage law infringes on your right to buy or own a gun.

I'm simply looking at real ways to stop the flow of guns to criminals. Stolen guns is a massive source of illegal guns. If we secure the legal guns and slow the flow of stolen guns to criminals then as criminals are arrested and their guns seized then the number of guns in the hands of criminals is reduced.

So my gun is secured.. Locked safe and all.. Someone breaks into my house and somehow hauls my safe away (it's happened).. They break into the safe and commit a crime with one of my guns.. I'm responsible?

No, because you stored you firearm in a safe manner.

It doesn't matter if it your gun is on the kitchen table. You are NOT RESPONSIBLE for someone else breaking the law.

Would you say it's irresponsible gun ownership to leave your gun in your car without having a locked gun safe to put it in? I would.

What a trash statement. No one is glad that children are dead at the hands of yet another mass shooter in this country.

You support murdering millions of unborn children, your party supports it all the way up to birth, so why the uproar over a few hundred kids- virtually statistical zero in truth - dying under these particular circumstances? Far far more die of various other causes each year. What are we doing to reduce those numbers? Are we violating constitutionally protected rights in doing anything?

You guys tilt at windmills. Nothing you propose will make any difference for one obvious reason which you all choose to ignore. It screams at you for acknowledgment, yet you ignore it.

It's why I dismiss you all summarily. If you can't address the elephant in the room then nothing else you can say matters.

If they see the safe they know there is something in the car worth breaking into it for. As others have stated those safes can be broken in to.
How about we punish the criminals and leave the others alone.

So let's play devil advocate...

My car is broken into.. Gun was stolen.. Used in a crime..

I claim it was secured in a handgun safe...

Who's going to know if that was the truth or not?

RE: Shooter and 3 children dead at Nashville school - natibeast2.0 - 03-28-2023 10:36 AM

I won’t bring religion into this so I’ll keep it “scientific” with my thoughts.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32345113/
“Data indicate that 82% of transgender individuals have considered killing themselves and 40% have attempted suicide”

From the FBI:
“FBI hate crime statistics showing that there were 2 trans hate crime murders in 2021, and only 278 anti-trans hate crimes overall, including petty offenses like vandalism.”

My thoughts are this is undoubtedly mental illness from the two data points above. With the rates of suicide that high there is clearly self hatred or whatever for the suicide stats to be so high. The FBI stats show the hate against these people clearly is not a huge issue.

My thoughts are the normalization and constant victim mindset of this is making the small number take their own self hatred out on others. It is not normal to be trans.

With that said, if I know someone personally that was I would have the you do you and I’ll keep my distance from now on mindset. There is also nothing wrong with that as it is not normal.

If one asked my true thoughts which I would never provide in person unless asked then yes I believe they are sick mentally ill people that I’d preferably not associate closely with. Will I still show respect for the person as a human if I interacted. Of course but there is no chance one can ever convince me this self identifying group is some great thing for the world and needs to be pushed on everyone else as some discriminated group bs.

And some want to take guns away for acts by the very people they celebrate. Joke.

RE: Shooter and 3 children dead at Nashville school - TigerBlue4Ever - 03-28-2023 10:37 AM

I'm going to do everything reasonable and convenient for me to have access to my weapon. When I'm not able to posses it on my person I'm going to do everything reasonable to secure it. If those reasonable efforts fail it is not incumbent upon me to be the responsible party in any other role than that of the victim of theft.
