I really can't believe how childish some of these comments are from some folks. Regardless of his orientation the kid produced on the field and his teammates accepted it. Grow Up! You can either play or not!

Can't say that to be definitive across the board. It doesn't have to be one way or the other. I'd say that it's both. Most folks are naturally genetically hardwired, but some choose lifestyles.
Not for me, but it's for some people I guess. How some guy can't get excited over a Kate Upton is beyond me.

I think the majority of backlash will come from bigoted "fans". You guys would be surprised at how accepting NFL teams actually are to gay teammates. Of course on the outside people see NFL players as dumb jocks, but you'd be surprised at the insightful discussions that go on in the locker rooms.

Most of the press I've seen about this has been positive. Good PR for Middle Tennessee as his teammates knew about it and were accepting. Hopefully he makes it to the NFL. His orientation shouldn't have anything to do with it... I'm a Christian and republican from the south, some people just need to move past the back woods small-minded thinking.

Sort of like this, just applied to football... "A baseball box score doesn't tell how big you are, what church you attend, what color you are, or how your father voted in the last election. It just tells what kind of baseball player you were on that particular day."
