That guy seemed to know a lot about Georgia State moving up. I just remember listening to his radio show and hearing him talking about GS not moving up any time soon because they're not ready.

If that is right I really wanted App. State......great football atmosphere and good road trip......and play pretty well. Conference USA can have FIU and UNT.....I like Texas State and App St. not sure about UTA.

I saw this too and got excited, but after looking over it again the wording doesn't seem to indicate a 12 team move is happening, just that it's a possibility. Just says they will announce if it will go to 12 teams, and then says that Georgia Southern should get a strong look.

I sure do hope it happens though.

Also, does anybody have a link to the teleconference today? Preferably one that would work on a smart phone?

Exactly, his tweet is telling because it is pure opinion - no inside info, and if there was any smoke, he would know about it.

My interpretation is: The decision of whether to go from 10-12 will be decided today or tomorrow. IF they decide to expand, GaSo and I assume App will get the nod.

Tony Barnhart doesn't tweet things just for ***** and giggles. You know he's one of the most respected CFB analysts in the country, right?

I think it was an educated guess when he referred to GS. With the Georgia State addition, GS should be considered. And they probably are. I just don't know if they have the support to get in with how College Athletics is moving. Time will tell.

Yes, he was also one of our biggest supporters for moving up because he saw our potential. As Tuscon said, on multiple occasions he explained why we were a candidate to move up while GaSo was not.

Im sure there is no doubt that during the meetings the topic of going to 12 football schools was discussed. It would have to be considering the climate we are in.

And they would probably want to make thier intentions known hence the tweet that they will announce what they are going to do. It could be yes or it could be no.

Being there is no other "smoke" out there I'm leaning towards no. :muttering:

When I saw the tweet, I saw it as a argument for something that wasn't happening. Others apparently saw it as a sure-thing, including parties that weren't there at all.

1st........App St. and GS
2nd........App St. and NMSU
3rd.........GS and NMSU

I hope we do go to 12 schools for football........these would be a wish list order.

Someone asked this question:

And he responded with this:

So, he followed up that tweet with an explanation of why GSU would get an invite and GaSo wouldn't.

I'm just bustin some chops. I don't have any disdain for GaSo. I'm for whatever is best for the conference. If it's App State and GaSo, so be it. That being said I would prefer App. State and someone else.

Most of you will hate it, but my fingers are crossed. I think that IF you guys expand it will be to NC and VA taking APP and Liberty! And here comes the hate in 3...2...1...
