Yeah, I cheated. This one is actually in El Dorado and I think it's still open. The menu in Raleigh was something like:

#1 Thousand Island-type spread with onion.
#2 Hickory Smoke Sauce (add cheese or onion to make it the best)
#3 Old-Fashioned with mustard, Pickle and Onion.
#4 Old-Fashioned cheeseburger . . . #3 add grated Cheddar Cheese.
#5 Chili, Cheese and Onion
#6 Salad Burger #1 sauce, Lettuce & Tomato.
#7 Ham Sandwich with same dressings as #6
#8 Cheddar Cheese Sandwich with same dressinngs as #6.
#9 Western Omelette Sandwich with same dressings as #6.
#10 Steak Sandwich Mayo, Lettuce and Tomato.
#11 Fish Sandwich with Tarter Sauce and catsup.
#12 Big M Two Patties with American Cheese slice in middle . . . #1 sauce, pickle, onion, tomato.

This is the original Garage building at that site that was turned into Godfathers. Didn't the Ernie Barrasso guy that organized those Vegas gambling junket flights own Godfathers? He used to own The Thunderbird Lounge.

I grew up there also. Drove over 20 min.s before. My Dad taught Bill in high school and he would come by and visit from time to time as would alot of his old students. got to shoot hoops with him a couple of times. He wore a size 16 shoe, funny how some things just stick in your memory. They tore down Shakeys pizza and Als golfdom to build the mall and surrounding area. Not a happy time for me.

When the Kennedy Complex was first built. I stopped after baseball practice everyday on my way home for a large grape, at the Sno Cream Castle. I loved that place. When I lived in Sherwood Forest, we hit it quite often.

I searched for a pic. But I never found one. Loved the Sno Cream, loved the Rebel, love Jerry's. My first ice cream place in Memphis that I loved was a place in South Memphis called "Somewhere." Corner of Biscayne, and 61. Small but great soft serve Chocolate Ice Cream.

That's a memorial to Tom Lee.

Here's a description about it from wikipedia

That's a memorial to Tom Lee. The african-american(he may have been a slave at the time) who helped pull 30 something people out the river after a steam boat sank. I believe that's the story. The memorial isn't that old. It's only about a year or two old.

I see someone found a pic of old Mark Twain! I loved that place growing up. We used to eat there on Sunday's after church about once a month when grandma didnt feel like cooking.

The former memorial was destroyed from hurrricane elvis if I'm not mistaken

i know it was in Olive Branch, but Maywood to me was a really good memory and if you lived in Memphis while it was open you went there in the summer, sorry couldnt find a picture of anything relating to it
