I'm predicting the typical "We were 10-15 plays away from being 8-4!" response.
Now that some funny stuff right there. I liked that alot and that is MTSU football in a nutshell.

We were a bad team for sure, but that was under a different head coach. Not only was McCollum outcoached regularly he left our team in shambles as far as APR goes. We've been playing with basically FCS scholarship numbers due to penalties from McCollum's complete disregard for academics. This year we're going to be up to 85 scholarship players for the first time ever, or within 1 or 2 anyway. Stockstill has come in and made our team much more competitive and gotten our APR score up to one of the best in the nation. Under Stockstill we've gone 7-6, 5-7, 5-7. Getting more of his players into the system and getting our scholarship number up is going to continue to yield better teams and if Tony Franklin can do for us, what he did for Troy, we're going to score points in bunches.

What a well thought out argument.
1-4
It is a far more thought out argument than any fan of a football program that has one winning season in the last 7 years can make. Season records don't lie. They are fact. MTSU's for the past decade and especially the last seven years suck.
While you like to spout off about MTSU's record against Memphis in the last 5 games, let me just say that USM has never lost to a Sun Belt team since the Belt starting playing football in 2001. We are 8-0 in that span. That includes beating your league champ 3 times in the N.O. bowl. Meanwhile USM is 1-4 in the last five games against Memphis. So, don't think for one minute that Memphis hasn't had success on the football field recently. They have done what no Sun Belt team has been able to accomplish. That is to not only beat USM, but to own us recently on the gridiron.
For starters, 1-4 is Memphis's record against the Sun Belt conference in the last 3 seasons, not their record against the Blue Raiders. So they haven't been able to get it done against our "inferior" conference. We beat Memphis the last time we played them, in 2007 21-7 at their place.
As far as USM, your record against the Sun Belt speaks for itself, but two out of three of your New Orleans Bowl victories were against mediocre, at best, teams. The conference as a whole has grown leaps in bounds in our short history, especially here in the past few years.
In 2005 you beat an Arkansas State team who's lone out of conference win was Tennessee-Martin, in that same season Arkansas State beat 2-9 FAU 3-0 in overtime. In that same season Arkansas State also lost to Middle Tennesse 45-7. You beat a North Texas team in 2004 that was nothing special. The conference across the board is exponentially better than it was then, last year you got a very good win against a very good Troy team, but don't act like you ran them off the field like most of your fans thought you would.
Your spin is weak. Those weren't exactly great USM teams that have owned your Belt champions. That is why USM was playing in the N.O. Bowl to start with. You mention how the Sun Belt is getting better, yet it got owned by CUSA last year.

We have only been divison 1 for a relatively short time. I would bet we have far less losing seasons than Memphis. Also, what does that say about Memphis when you get spanked on your own field to a team that didnt ave a winning season in the "so called" weak Sun Belt confernce? I am sure we will win again easily this season as well. On the issue of the stadium arguement, Memphis has a bigger stadium that is it. Its not nicer, it's not even on campus, and its in the ghetto. Plus, all of our other football facilites are far superior than Memphis's

OK point is some of our staff is of the best coaches who coached in the lil belt and left for BETTER jobs. Facts! And yes u will get spanked for 6 longgg years. As troy would if we played the lil soldiers.End of story and your fantasy island dreams. Look troy, fau, fiu, mtsu, asu the plane boss the plane. LOL!
You just lost all credibility. Hinshaw was fired from MT when Head Coach Andy McCollum was fired. So basically you have a guy on your staff who wasn't good enough to cut it at MT. I like Hinshaw personally, but he didn't get the job done in Murfreesboro.

You are kidding right? It isn't the nicest area in Memphis (not saying it is a bad area) but it is not the "ghetto" as you say. There is a nice college right by it, you should probably go around the area more before you claim it a "ghetto".

I'm sure he's just doing what most people do who aren't familiar with the city; assume you'll get shot in that area unless otherwise noted.
Some people I talk with think you have a better chance of surviving in Afghanistan than in Memphis.

I only felt unsafe in when I was in Memphis for a few minutes when I made a wrong turn somewhere and instantly knew I was in a bad neighborhood. The area that the Liberty bowl was kind of ugly, but I don't know about ghetto.

Wow, what rock do all you guys from that glorified Junior College in Murfreesboro crawl out from under to come post these lame comments on this board. Of course given the pitiful shape of your football program I am not being entirely fair to Junior Colleges with that comparison.....

Glorified Junior College?
Southern Miss's enrollment is like 65% of Middle Tennessee's.

Didn't CUSA go something like 9-1 against the Sun Belt last year? If so, then I don't get the bravado.
What about the year before that?

Seriously, the best the Sun Belt had couldn't beat a 6-6 USM team last year. Nuff said.
The best of Conf USA couldn't beat a 6-6 USM team last year...duh.

Now that the Men's baskeball team finally got caught cheating. What are you poor little Memphis fans going to hang your hat on? Maybe football? Man, its going to be fun stomping a mud hole in you guys again this season like we did at your place two years ago!
