Is JD the one that lost a self ban bet or something a few years back?

Yes.

Yes.

It wasn't a lifetime ban? Too bad.

It was a self ban, and he reneged.

Seems to be a habit with him.

RE: Vance blames Iran war for GOP’s midterm losses
Our elections are decided by two things (at least that we know of):

1) Turnout.

2) 15% of people in the middle, who constantly change their minds with the wind.

Both factors usually explain why the sitting President's party loses seats.

I'm going to be interested to see hard numbers on #1. If Rep voter turnout was low because they couldn't be bothered, then they get what they deserve.

Vance said 10% of their voters in 2024 switched. But then Vance is running for president and has an agenda. I'd like to see it somewhere other than from him.

He did downplay that Florida was below 2024 because it wasn't a lot below. But I know Georgia had massively better turnout in the blue counties this year.

Groceries are more expensive now, and have been since Trump took office....then you add the soaring gas prices to it, stagnant wages (or worse, tiny wage increases eaten up by massive insurance hikes), mortgage rates pricing first-time buyers out, etc.

Make no mistake that this was about more than the economy, however - it was an utter repudiation of everything Trump and his fan club in Congress allowed:

Voters want peace, he gave them an undeclared war.
Voters want relief from high prices, he gave them tariffs.
Voters want corruption out of Washington, he made the "swamp" even more corrupt than before, rewarding those who bent the knee and going on a rampage against those who didn't.
Hispanic voters helped Trump win in 2024, and he sent ICE in to profile them, sometimes brutally.
Voters want stability in the world, and Trump gave us broken alliances and sidled up to dictators like Vladimir Putin.
The cancel culture of the MAGA right inflicted immense cruelty on its enemies, and their mindless followers relished every second.

People simply have had enough of Trump and those in Congress who enabled him.

Yes. Failure fails.

The VP sent a significant signal here to Republicans in the new Senate.

If Donald Trump does anything “insane” in Iran, as many in both parties dread that he will, Vance himself does not support that action.

This means disaster can be prevented, if need be, through emergency impeachment.

GOP Senators have just been assured by Trump’s constitutional successor that taking such a step will work if they join their Democratic colleagues in a vote.

Amazing what sort of stupid stuff you find on Reddit.

This shouldn't surprise you, frankly. But yeah, Gitanole's political takes are almost always ridiculous. Sadly, too many people agree with him.

"Responding to bolded. Doesn't this sound like a familiar early 00's tap dance? And look where that got us for 20 years." Tulame

This is how you do it, Tulame, I'm surprised that little ol me with limited computer skills knew this and you didn't with a genius degree from Tulame.

We lost to Li'l satan because he can lie with the best of them, including his daddy, satan. Some professed Christians believed him not even knowing that the things he espoused were downright blasphemous...and believe me, he'll do it again when he runs for president and bamboozle these "Christians" again and even those that don't even know what a Bible is, or who God is. He will win employing the same game plan, because you see, he's the anti-Christ that the Bible tells us about. These things needed to happen for Jesus to return, the Bible doesn't lie or tell false tales. I'll probably be dead and long gone but what makes me sad is that those I leave behind will be the ones who will suffer and who knows maybe some will join the Dark Side. I can only do me though and it'll be their choice.

Honestly, Trump is getting tiring even to this old conservative and that goes for the Republican congress. How many times did I call them chihuahuas because all they do is have those high publicity congressional interviews because that's all it is. They want to prop themselves up as doing something but all they do is bark, no bite at all. The Demonicrats know this and only laugh at them and they have a good reason to do so. ARF ARF ARF, that's all you hear but not one traitorous Demonicrat in prison yet and they won't either.

I like the way Ol' Big Mouth Trump has run the country. Investments galore that take time to begin and when they do the Demonicrats will try to take the credit for it...as is their habit. Iran stifled in securing a nuke with only very few casualties. I didn't mind paying a little more for gas considering how much worst it would have been if Iran did get a nuke, they would have blackmailed the whole world. Remember, the Iranian gestapo are unlike the others that have nukes, they don't care if they die killing the infidels, in their mind they will go to heaven, the others know that they'll die alongside us and sure don't want any of that. I've never seen any of our enemies strapping bombs on their bodies and blowing themselves up like the muslims do.

Paxton was a terrible choice for the Senate, he had too much going against him. I voted for him because for sure I wasn't going to vote for Li'l satan but I did it holding my nose. As far as Hinojosa, she had the biggest chance of winning because she had two things going for her, she's Hispanice and a woman. I would bet you that even many Rep voters took that into consideration and voted for her, just as many Blacks voted for Oblunder ONLY because he's Black. It's a good thing that Texas has a majority Republican congress because at least it'll slow her down if she want's to go full Woke. But, we'll see. If she's smart she'll govern as a moderate but I doubt it because she told us what she was gonna do from the start, alas.
