[A Collaborative Thread] What did the Ragin Cajun do the last time ULL beat Tech?
THE YEAR IS 1996!
On September 28, 1996 ULL had their last win against Tech.
Wannabe by the Spice Girls is all over the radio. Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai is the hottest music video making its rounds on MTV. Independence Day with Will Smith was still in theaters. Michael Jordan had just won his 4th NBA championship. The Olympics in Atlanta had ended a month before. Google doesnt exist. Bill Clinton was president.
Let's reconstruct what the Rajun Cajun did in 1996: The last time ULL beat Tech, the Ragin Cajun ...
- The last time ULL beat Tech, the Ragin Cajun saw a great investment opportunity and put all his money into Enron.
- The last time ULL beat Tech, the Ragin Cajun thought "man the Cowboys are going to be a dynasty for decades".
- The last time ULL beat Tech, the Ragin Cajun thought R. Kelly would be a great artist to have as a role model.

THE YEAR IS 1991!
ULl's highest finish, round of 32. Tech's, sweet 16

Is this another one of those if the Cajuns repeat it enough it gets accepted as truth? Tech and the Cajuns have played multiple times every decade since the 1910's. A decade is 10 years, so needless to say we can just add this to the pile with the whole Tech told the I-Bowl not to invite the Cajuns, and Tech ran from ULM pile that y'all like to amass.

Yeah, we know, ugh! Tech's MBB has played in 3 or 4 conference championship games for the auto bid (maybe a couple more) over that time period, but we are 0-fer in those games.
Even Grambling and Southern have reached the Big Dance since 1991 giving Tech the longest drought amongst Louisiana Division I schools.

Yep, several conference titles, but no tournament titles. Unfortunately in 1-bid leagues you don't get rewarded for being the best team, just getting the hottest in a 4 day tournament.
Since 91, Tech has 5 regular season titles, 7 NIT appearances, and 16 20+ win seasons. All of which only ODU has equlaed or eclipsed in that same time frame. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, Tech is just waiting on some of that luck to break our way.

That one’s true though. Buncha scared sissies
I was at that Indy Bowl when y'all got donkey-stomped by a 6-6 Ohio team. Tech was not scared to go clobber the injuns, just saw no benefit in it compared to a berth in the Liberty Bowl.
Whatever shortcomings Tech Football may have we are not going to measure ourselves against the all-time 0-1 NLU injuns in bowl appearances.

Correct, and another truth is their arrogance has no filter.

How did that Liberty Bowl go for you guys???
Very well, thank you, we didn't lose.
For the uninformed, LoTech stayed home as their arrogance waited for a Liberty bowl invite. Their loyal fans were overjoyed.

Lol. We dog walked you in 2014 and 2015. In Lafayette you were 2 TD favorites and got your doors blown off. Just an FYI for the uninformed.
Looking forward to the cute little program in Lafayette coming to see daddy this weekend.

You gotta say though the Cajuns never high handed themselves out of a bowl game. BTW love the thread! Fun to see y'all beat up on each other!
