Sometimes you win because you just play a cleaner game. That happens frequently with us, this game was not an outlier or an "off day".

No one can tell me JMU has better players and talent than us. They just have offensive coaches that make logical plays and don't use a dart board. That long pass on third and short with our massive QB was so dumb. Weston Bryan is almost automatic in short yardage situations like that.

May very well be true. I posted in the other thread about JMU losing 20 from last season’s team to P4 (11 to UCLA and 9 to 7 other P4)

Only 1 starter from last yr on offense play vs GSU (the OC). ZERO starters on defense from last yr started vs GSU. Only 2 returning defensive starters. One was out to injury, and the other (#3 LB) got injured late last yr and took a while to recover. On 2 deep but not starting.

Sure returned some 2 deep from last season and freshmen now 2nd yr who have stepped up. I did a breakdown of 2026 transfers and came up JMU transfer breakdown
P4: 7
G6: 12
FCS: 13
Div II: 8
Div III: 2
Add on 20 some freshmen for 60 some new players on the roster. JMU under Chesney and now Napier has been doing better than the rest of the SBC in reloading with these same to lower level guys.

Disagree. We won it, but made mistakes and they took advantage of the poor pass defense.

Reason I say it is that drop by JC on our last series. They could’ve marched down the field like they had been all game. Our secondary has issues that I’m not so sure will get solved this point in the season.

Regardless, relieved to escape with a W in Hellsboro for us JMU folk.

I'd say the biggest "we didn't win it, they lost it" moment was missing the open TD on 3rd and 10.

Good teams get poached. All that ^^^ to say what? If your pointing to good teams eventually revert to the mean in the Sun Belt you're smarter than I think you are.
