one thing is clear ... they are most definitely stealing the civil rights from the middle class that actually make up the bulk of this country...
THIS IS CIVIL WAR II!!! AND WE'RE HIP DEEP IN IT!!!
Righto! Tax the Middle Class to pay for open borders and freebies for aliens, and the sooner you destroy the middle class and rob them of their voice, and of their representation the sooner the U.S.A. swings Socialist or Fascist depending upon whether government itself or corporations seize control. Well sir here we are. Do we stand and fight or slink off to play victim like young folk were trained to do in high school?

RE: The SAVE Act - 2026 is the time to apply pressure on Thune and the filibuster
The truth behind their inaction is simple
They don't like the legislation
They want the American people to believe 60 votes is sacrosanct for major legislation
They don't want to put in the work it would require to combat an actual live filibuster

tough to argue against that as a large portion to motive...
All Trump is really asking for is the enforcement of existing laws about citizenship and the right to vote. The way the Dems act about it reflects a total disregard for those who bother to become citizens and for our election process. Show me a Republican Senator that can't get behind it and I'll show you someone who should be primaried. It's insane that we have to ask for it to be enforced. People want to know how far down the toilet bowl hole America has gone, and when it comes to this it's clear that the gunk in the trap is all that is keeping the flush from being complete.
If it's all about "enforcement of existing laws" then it's not actually needed. It's obviously about more than that. It also partially nationalizes election laws without fully doing it. I'd be perfectly fine with there being fully agreed upon national standards for federal elections across the board, but for me that either needs to be an all or nothing deal.
I also personally believe, and suspect the GOP senators feel the same way, that this is not going to be the magic bullet to ensure GOP election dominance for years to come. There are not millions of illegals and dead people voting, and despite how much I hate the way the Dems have shifted what their desired "base" is that new base is not actually going to be the ones who can't meet these new standards. It's going to be infrequent, low information, or brand new voters who would have the chance to be most harmed by this and that's less and less the Dem base now.
I am perfectly fine with nuking the filibuster/de-facto nuking it to pass the SAVE act. I don't think it's going to end the Dems as a national party like this board fantasizes about and it's the exact type of thing that would be easy to overturn as it's not materially impacting anyone's day to day life. The types of things a Dem trifecta could in theory pass though simple majority like raising the minimum wage, universal childcare, required paid family and medical leave, since I'm dreaming a Dem party that would actually pass Universal Healthcare, etc are the exact type of things that if they ever passed would be super unpopular and hard to repeal. They are also the exact type of things that under the current system, other than maybe minimum wage, that you are never getting 60 votes for. The GOP senators know all this as well. They saw the political backlash of attempting to get rid of the ACA, something that objectively sucks and was always going to suck, but still provides material benefits to people that made it intensely unpopular to get rid of without a plan to ensure none of those groups were harmed (which is impossible under any plan acceptable to the GOP).

The one that will end the Demonicrats are the uber-Demonicrats, the DSA. When the DSA is going after QueMala and dissing Dimestore Oblunder you know that they don't like the Demonicrat Lite anymore than conservatives and it will show with their supporters...dumb Ses.
Those young ignorant supporters voting for DSA candidates don't know history, they need a little learning from people that have lived under socialism. They have it great right now and think it'll remain the same if they vote socialist. That's what every country who has sampled socialism thought too and look what happened. Too dumb to see what's in front of their eyes.

If "young people" (a group of which my 39 year old arse doesn't even fall anymore) had it so great they wouldn't be supporting socialism. None of the things I listed, raising the minimum wage/universal childcare/paid leave/universal healthcare are socialism. If they are then I can point to a lot of successful socialist countries.

I don't think socialism is the answer but boomers in particular and early Gen X are completely detached from the realities that young people are facing in their early adulthood. The housing market is particularly alarming. Going back a couple of decades there are a lot of factors and blame to be spread around.
1. Dems. Crime in certain areas have made more desirable locations sky-rocket.
2. Dems and Reps. Unchecked illegal immigration has pushed up the demand for housing.
3. Dems and Reps. COVID bailouts devaluing the dollar.
4. Dems mostly. Over-regulation for new construction.
5. Dems and Reps. Allowing foreign companies to buy up property.
6. Boomers. They own 41% of all property. 25% of them own multiple homes.
There's not an easy fix. The best bet I guess is buying something way out in the boonies and dealing with a bad commute. Or buy in a really sketchy area and deal with crime. Or buy a piece of land, put a trailer on it and save over time.

Oh wow thank you for telling me that these things wouldn't magically be free!!!
So those things lead to socialism, yet if I tried to cite the Nordic countries you'd correctly say those aren't socialist countries. So I guess my question would be which of the countries you'd actually define as socialist or communist got there gradually by voting to increase government handouts?
And the answer is super simple, I have a young grandchild and parents in their 70's. My mother is in very poor health and if I even were able to move she'd almost never get to see him again. My brother, who's a naturalized Australian citizen, is about to have a child over there and it's unlikely she will realistically ever be able to go visit again because of her rapidly declining health. Is that an honest enough reason for you, you massive pile of human garbage.

If I feel you've answered honestly, I'll consider telling you that nothing is "free" and governments handouts are the front door to socialism.
With all of those family issues, I'd think you'd want to get them out of this horrible nation...even more!
Massive pile of garbage? Coming from a terrorist sympathizer, anti-semite, hater of this nation...I take that as an enormous compliment! Thank you!

How about this part?
Not sure how I can be more clear? Maybe a hand-drawn sketch in crayon?
Speaking generally, those countries (Nordic) are heading face-first into socialism. Eventually the free money will run out. This nation, sadly due to morons like yourself, ain't far behind. I guess the silver lining is that folks like you and I will be gone by that time and our grandkids will have to deal with this idiocy. Congrats?

I don't really think the housing bill was a good bill to make an example of.

Things came to a boiling point last night when Scott Presler had a ticket to attend Thunes South Dakota event. But one of the sergeant at arms denied him entry and began screaming at him to get out.
The sergeant at arms has been fired and the SD gop president has apologized.
