The problem with this, as andy and others have argued, is that the damage is never so neatly confined to those who deserve it. It inevitably hurts the innocent as well.

Another observation: I disagree that this is just a Democrat problem. Conservatives ought to be, but are not, taking some serious lessons from Tuesday’s electoral wipeout. Yes, these were all blue states and cities. But the fact that the margins got worse, not better, from those in 2024 ought to register somewhere as a concern.

One explanation, and it is a fair one, is that Trump himself was not on the ballot. But if that’s what made the difference, bear in mind that he will not be on the ballot during the 2026 midterms either. And what does that say about the depth of the conservative movement? That we cannot effectively function without the active involvement of our orange daddy?

If I were Donald Trump, I would be appalled. He has done virtually everything right this past year. Yet none of it appears to make a difference to the voting public. Perhaps that is just a blue-state problem. But I think you guys are being more than a bit naive here.

Oh, I don't think it's ONLY a Dem problem. Didn't mean to imply that. Both parties. Remember, I don't want the Repubs to flourish. I want both parties to die.

It's just that right now, I can somewhat tolerate the Pubs, but I absolutely loathe what the Dem party has become. They are by far the biggest problem at the moment.

They're trying to tear down the country and/or turn it into a socialist/Communist country. The Pubs just suck at managing things. They're not trying to tear down the country.

So things are more affordable today than they were when he took over? He ran very explicitly on "look at how amazing and cheap things were when I was president, elect me and we'll get back to that." That was stupid, anyone who actually believed he was going to do that was stupid, but a whole lot of voters are stupid and did believe he'd make things cheaper and make their material conditions better. That ain't happened, and ain't going to happen under Trump.

And you actually believe that KH would have made things better, even when she said she wouldn't have changed a thing that Biden did?

We get it Mr. BJ. Trump voters are stupid deplorables and a threat to democracy. If a democrat becomes President again, we should all be put in concentration camps and killed. That way, you all on the left can have your utopia that you have such a h***** for.

I stand by my post. Donald Trump has DONE virtually everything right. (My hesitation is with the tariff policies, but that has yet to fully play out.)

Your rejoinder is only that he SPOKE incorrectly. I agree. Donald Trump is incapable of keeping his arrogant and reckless mouth shut, especially when it is in his own best interest to do so. He somehow manages to find a way to turn every stunning victory into an unnecessary distraction.

That’s who he is. He is an unfunny clown. But it does not change the fact that this clown has successfully reversed the disgraceful damage done to our nation by the Biden administration on just about every front. Or at the very least has stopped the bleeding - - as in the case of inflation.

That you cannot see this (or at least insist on denying it) does not speak well for you - - indicating a problem with either your intelligence or your love of this country.

RE: Let the blue areas implode
Let Them Burn It Down

Quote:Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City mayoral race this week is a clear moment. Voters chose a 34-year-old Democrat Socialist promising frozen rents, higher taxes on the wealthy, more public spending, etc. You know, all the things communists promise before their overblown Marxism takes control. That is now the experiment New York City residents asked for.

As GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) explained:

Zohran Mamdani’s victory marks the BIGGEST WIN FOR destructive, dangerous, big government SOCIALISM in U.S. history — and a loss for freedom loving American people.

He’s an unapologetic Marxist — fully EMBRACED by the Democrat establishment.

Hakeem Jeffries ENDORSED him. Barack Obama personally called to CONGRATULATE him.

The Democrat Party has officially surrendered to socialists and the radicals who HATE America — they now control the movement.

Say what you want about protests, think pieces, and cable-news freakouts. Elections have consequences. Democracy means handing people what they vote for. If Democrats across our cities insist on doubling down on big government fixes and cultural priorities that chafe with ordinary New Yorkers, then maybe the rest of the country should stop propping up those failing models. Let them have their socialist lab. Watch what it does to schools, budgets, public safety, and the urban fabric. Then leave.

This is not an invitation to despair. It is an argument for strategic exit. For decades, conservative thinkers have warned that some left-leaning cities are trending toward policies that discourage investment, drive up crime, and hollow out middle-class opportunity. If those places want to try a full-throated experiment in redistribution and centralized solutions, let them see it to the end.
Do not pour tax dollars into bailouts or endless subsidies to prop up unsustainable models. Let policy failures be instructive, not subsidized. We continue to come into these cities after years of Democrat control has destroyed them. We rebuild, renew, and reignite belief again, only for the hopelessly ignorant to say, "Remember that colossal failure of Democrat leadership? Let's try that again. But this time with a version of intersectionality we haven't used yet to convince people of 'progress.'"

And make no mistake: the result will ripple. Jewish groups, business leaders, and even parts of the public are already issuing warnings about some of Mamdani’s past statements and policy positions. Those concerns are legitimate. They matter in a pluralistic city that relies on trust, commerce, and civic cooperation. If those foundations begin to crack under the strain of ideological governance, the private sector and citizens will adapt. They always do.

So what does “leave” actually mean? It does not mean exile or surrender. It means a reallocation of people, investment, and energy to places that still prize freedom, low taxes, strong schools, and public order. Think of it as creative decentralization. If a city wants to turn itself into an ideological showcase, the rest of the country can respond by fostering new hubs where entrepreneurship thrives, where families can afford a house, and where communities are safe again. We have plenty of room here in Texas.

America offers enormous geographic slack. Small and mid-sized cities can rise. Suburbs can reimagine downtowns. Rural towns with broadband and tax incentives can lure companies and families fed up with chaos. The lesson is simple. If one place insists on policy that scares away capital, other places should compete to welcome that capital. Let failed models be proof points for what not to copy. Then sell a better offer. Show people why they should plant roots somewhere else. Do not beg a failing government to change. Build alternatives. Win back a sense of possibility.

This plan is not merely economic. It is moral. Communities flourish when people can work, worship, and build without fear. There is dignity in a stable paycheck, a safe school, and a neighbor who looks like a future, not an alarm. That dignity vanishes when public policy punishes success and rewards dependency. If the left wants to test the limits of redistribution, fine. The rest of us will answer with civic renewal. We will create cities that respect family, entrepreneurship, and free speech. We will vote with our feet and our wallets.

But propping up failure out of fear of being labeled uncharitable is a mistake. We do not owe political experiments indefinite subsidies. We owe our children stable futures. We owe our neighbors safe streets. We owe entrepreneurs a fair shot. Watching a city self-select into a model that doesn’t fit the majority of Americans is painful. Watching it teach the rest of the country how not to do things is instructive. Both are useful.

So let Mamdani govern. Let the left run their lab. Then, quietly and strategically, build alternatives. Offer lower taxes. Sharpen school choice. Rebuild neighborhoods. Attract employers with sensible rules. Invest in once-neglected towns that still believe in American possibility.

If Democrats want a crumbling, socialist, failing society in certain places, give them one. Let it be contained. Let it be visible. America will not fall because one city chooses differently. It will rise where people choose opportunity over ideology. That is the conservative playbook. That is our hope. And in the end, success will not be measured by who shouts the loudest. It will be measured by where people choose to live, work, and raise their kids.

Let them have their experiment. We will build the rest.

Fine by me. I'm not one of the takers in red states. Your "taker" narrative is quite flawed.

If his policies are going to be such destructive failures then you guys should be thrilled. You should hope he implements them in a high profile city that none of you live in, that they fail spectacularly, and then you get to say I told you so forever and it's a massive short and long term setback to anything like this happening elsewhere. Instead, I think the real fear is he might actually do some of these things and they turn out to be popular.

Exactly. Leftists have absolutely no idea what goes on in Republican-run states, other than what they see reported by CNN and MSNBC, and whatever the New York Times or Washington Post puts out about them.

Things that Trump didn’t do right this year :

Targeted legal immigrants, universities, and law firms with retaliatory executive orders for saying things he doesn’t like.

Attacked independent regulatory agencies independence.

Attempted to strip the power of the purse from Congress.

Attempted to take the power to regulate voting away from the states via executive orders.

Attempted to unconstitutionally end birthright citizenship via executive order.

Threatened the sovereignty of states and violated the constitution by deploying national guard troops without governor approval.

Illegally imprisoned immigrants in foreign concentration camps without due process or a trial.

Ignored court orders and attempted to undermine the authority of the judicial branch to deliver checks and balances to the executive branch.

Engaged in retaliatory firings in the DOJ of anyone who helped investigate or prosecute him for his many felonies. Engaged in general lawfare against his “enemies”.

Executed a crypto rug pull profiting $1B+ from his crypto scam.

Pardoned people who attacked police officers and attempted to stop the peaceful transition of power.

The only people who think Trump has done everything right are the cult. Congress doesn’t think he has done everything right. The judiciary doesn’t think he has done everything right.

Pardoned people who attacked police officers and attempted to stop the peaceful transition of power.

The only people who think Trump has done everything right are the cult. Congress doesn’t think he has done everything right. The judiciary doesn’t think he has done everything right.

We get it, Elvis. You hate Trump and his supporters and want them both dead. Can you just come out and say it already?

Most are familiar enough with history to know these type policies do not work. Low IQ folks though love to hear that they are getting free stuff but then are surprised when the ones being taxed thru the nose to pay for the free stuff flee to more sane locations.

I understand the point that 450 (and others) are making in this thread. If whole sections of our country (Virginia very much included) are going to be this stupid and this selfish, they ought be be left to the consequences.

Executed a crypto rug pull profiting $1B+ from his crypto scam.

they voted for that!

We voted to send back the millions of illegals the Biden administration sat by and let in this country and who are draining tax payer resources. We voted for economic stability and lower fuel prices.
Can't help that you and Elvis are too stupid to recognize that despite his flaws he has done far more good for the country in 1 year than his senile predecessor did in 4 years.

The rebuttal to your post is literally the title of this thread.

The existence of this thread and the 10 other threads about him shows the rebuttal is crap.
Youre delusional, bookmark every single one of the threads you just mentioned and hold on tight because these commie experiments fail 100% of the time. They alway have and always will. These threads are nothing but laughs and giggles at the morons who bought what that foreign Muslim communist sold... yeah its even funny to write that over and over.

But but but maybe it'll work this time.

Oy vey
