Well the Buffalo/Akron game is suspended indefinitely, who knows when/how they'll make that up. That brings us to the end of this week, and frankly it was about as good as we could of hoped for with our win, two teams being knocked out, and Ball State losing. At this point there can only be six MAC teams that qualify for a bowl, meaning we are guaranteed a spot.
Also, with Michigan State being upset by Indiana today they will now need to go down to Penn State next weekend and win to get to a bowl. I think if MSU loses you'll see a bigger push from the QL Bowl folks to bring in either Toledo, BG, or us.
Bowl eligible
Ohio (8-3)
Toledo (7-4)
Eastern Michigan (7-4)
Bowling Green (6-5)
Need one more wins
Buffalo
Ball State
Miami
Eliminated
Akron
Northern Illinois
Western Michigan
Kent State
Central Michigan
These games don't matter too much now, just in terms of trying to make ourselves look better:
Tuesday
BSU @ Miami: The winner of this one is bowling the loser is done. We'll go with Ball State because it would add a win over a bowl team to our resume
BG @ Ohio: I guess Ohio, that will mean we finish with a better record than Bowling Green no matter what.
Friday
CMU @ EMU:...duh
Toledo @ WMU: We want WMU here, it would mean we could potentially be co-MAC west champs (not that it matters) and have a better record than Toledo
Saturday
Kent State @ Buffalo: Kent State, it would put Buffalo one loss from being knocked out.
Akron @ NIU:....who cares?
An added note (and it kills me), I realized today that the way November has played out, had we made that stop on 4th and 10 against Toledo, the result of our game against Central wouldn't even matter....we'd have already clinched a spot in the MAC title game
