CORRECTIONS ... Thanks to WRC for alerting me not to count shutout wins!! (There were two of those rare events in this period by the Owls under these four coaches.)
Bloomgren: 3 before today.
1 in 2018 (UAB: 42), none in 2019 or 2020, 2 in 2021 (Texas: 58; UTSA: 45) ... none in 2022 (so far).
Bailiff (11 years): 1 shutout (2008)
Graham (1 year): 0
Hatfield (12 years): 3 (1 in each of 1994, 1996 and 2000.)
So 3<4 ... and it will stay that way today, as Padgett hits Rozner for the Owls' first score today.
We didn’t get shutout in 2008

Yeah just checked. Bailiff’s Rice teams were never shutout. Nor were there any in Graham’s one year.

Yep. They are having a field day versus the UTSA benchwarmers, equipment guys, bus driver and ball girls.

After the last 2 weeks, tough to see us going up to Denton and getting a win next weekend. But I suppose anything is possible.

Glorious!

Sure. Bloomgren could get fired, too. But don’t think that is any more likely than the Owls pulling the upset in Denton.

Vandy beats Florida 31-24.
That's 2 SEC wins in a row for the Commodores.

What happens in Denton stays in Denton. Owls will go to a who cares? bowl. Parliament posters will gush over the team's "success" and celebrate Bloom breaking the bowl drought. Bloom signs extension. Next season (1st in AAC) is even "better".

RE: Rice vs. UTSA
So, precedent: the last 5 Rice football coaches with losing records in year 5 did not get fired after that season. I do not expect that precedent will be broken.

So his 5th year performance is as good or better than all but two of these guys.
