People expecting Tech to be a pushover next year are delusional. They had the same record as ODU against a P5 schedule, we played a low level G5 schedule.

No P5s would be pushovers, we aren't at that level where any of them would be easy wins. We will be substantial dogs to VT.

I think it's called having some faith in your school. lol I didn't read anywhere it said the wins would be easy.

Edit: I didn't read back so I see what y'all are saying. I personally don't think they'll be easy, but I certainly won't chuck them up as sure losses.

@ChrisVannini: Again, there are no updates on the Sun Belt adding Marshall, Southern Miss and Old Dominion for 2022.

Sun Belt usually releases its schedule in early March. The SBC would like them. C-USA made it clear they’re pushing back. Lawyers involved. We’ll know in a few weeks.

That would be nice. I think a lot depends on how the QB position develops and the new OC.

ECU isn’t the doormat they were when we last played. But neither is ODU. Should be a good game.

Heard the VT game will likely (meaning very close to being announced) be on Friday night. Was told VT is OK with it and ACCN will likely be the network.

Looks like Liberty's OOC schedule for next 2023 is set. We'll be playing them on Sept 30. Their other games are against Bowling Green, Buffalo and UMass. It will be interesting to see how their fans react after having such strong schedules and then going to that WEAK schedule. On the other hand, they could literally go undefeated in 2023 with those 4 and a depleted CUSA schedule. Still probably wouldn't get them in the playoff.

Some news per FOIA requests:

The VT and ECU games are flipping dates in 2031 (ECU is the 6th, Tech is the 20th as of now), ODU is getting $1,500,000 (and 2,000 tickets) to go to South Carolina in 2024, $1,300,000 (and 500 tickets) to go to Indiana in 2025.

Also, ODU has signed a two-year H&H contract to play UCONN. The games are scheduled for 10/31/2026 in Norfolk with the return 09/25/2027 in East Hartford. If UCONN breaches the contract by discontinuing football or dropping to FCS (both rumored at various times) then they owe ODU $750,000 for each game they can't play.

That UConn series would make a lot of sense given the years/locations mentioned. Did you file FOIA requests on your own? Or was this information picked up somewhere else?
